Sol Y Mar - Unawatuna

The property is thoughtfully designed and very well maintained. Location is excellent, just a minute’s walk to the beach. The owner and staff are extremely courteous and always ready to help. We stayed with family and truly enjoyed the experience. Loved the natural surroundings, spotted black monkeys during breakfast and even peacock occasionally. Parking is available, but the road is slightly narrow, so better to check with the owner beforehand.

I stayed here for 2 nights and had a great time. The location and hospitality from Anura was excellent. Upon leaving was surprised to receive local tea which I love and very thoughtful. Would return again on my next trip to Unawutuna. Thank you. British travellers.

Nice place to stay. When we arrived they gave us juice from wood apple. Water is provided countlessly. We like it. We didnt buy the breakfast from this place, so cannot comment on that.

We had booked two double rooms. Booking was done about a week in advance. They did not inform us of any unavailability. We arrive there in the morning, and they say they only have one room in their property, and put us into an adjoining property which was just rooms - more like hostel rooms. The A/C was terrible there, fans weren't working, and it had power failures at night. All they did to make up for this, was to offer us breakfast the next morning. Mr. Anura, who was there appeared to be a kind man, but over booking is a terrible practice. It destroys other people's vacation plans. I would not come here again. p.s. if you are driving, please remember the drive way to this place is only about 7-8 feet wide!
