Villa Erato

The property is very cosy, homely and beautiful, tucked away in a quiet, hilly village of Palaiokastro - just a short car ride from Heraklion city and a quick 10mins walk to the cute little beach, overlooked by the ruins of the ancient fortress. It has a lovely little garden full of Mediterranean vegetation, such as Citrus, Pomegranate and Fig trees and grape vines, all bursting with fruits. The rooms are very cosy and clean, with comfortable beds and furnitures, bathroom is very clean and the landlord, Mr Leonidas is a lovely and welcoming person, who always made sure we had a place to park and would bring us fresh figs almost every morning, which just added to the homely feeling we had from the day one of our stay.

It is difficult to stay what we didn’t like as everything was beyond perfect and a great value for money - the only thing I would mention is that to get around and for grocery trips, you would definitely benefit from having a car, however I feel this would be the case for a lot of places on the island, unless you’re staying at a resort. Nevertheless, it was beyond easy to rent one, as the lovely Eleftheria, who manages the property, hooked us up with a car rental company that had very reasonable prices with no hidden fees and after obtaining the car, it was all a smooth ride.

Casa stupenda

La posizione era strategica, a pochi passi da una splendida spiaggia, a pochi chilometri dal centro di Heraklion. Leonidas , il proprietario molto accogliente e cordiale.

La disponibilità della persona su tanti consigli che abbiamo chiesto, strade, spiagge, taverne, ecc. Veramente consigli molto utili. In più, abbiamo trovato tutto il necessario per cucinare e lavare. Grazie per la bottiglia di grappa, buonissima.

Purtroppo devo dire che avere una persona, penso sia il padre (anche se era stato annunciato da un messaggio della figlia), che entra nella stessa proprietà, e si mette a girare all'interno del giardino della villa, dove abbiamo tutte le finestre, questa situazione non è stata una cosa sicuramente positiva. Mia figlia ha visto questa persona alla finestra dell'appartamento, questa cosa non è ammissibile! Se fitto una proprietà, sia all'interno che all'esterno, non posso ritrovarmi persone che non conosco, che mi girano! Mi dispiace dirlo! Sicuramente una brava persona, ma non va bene tale situazione!
