Good home away from home on the canal! Close to Hoodsport for groceries, dinner, winery, coffee etc, but didn’t feel like we were IN town. Hamma Hamma was a quick little jaunt up the road for fresh oysters too.
Kitchen had almost every gadget you could want which was super great for staying in and cooking. There was a grill outside as well for oysters.
Waterfront is literally out the back door. We were hoping when the tide receded we could walk the beach, but the approach is too steep for it to have ever gone out that far. There are stairs going down into the water for easy access. Good for putting kayaks in and paddling down the coastline. Saw lots of marine life while sitting on the back deck - orcas, sea lions, schools of fish, crab and salmon (went during salmon run).
House is practically on the highway (separated by a line of trees) so would recommend brining ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper!! The approach is also easily missable - GPS took us right by since the address is Hwy 101. It’s the first road approach on your right when you pass the Motel (if you’re coming from the South).

It was a perfect place for a peaceful week. We did small hikes nearby into beautiful areas, then came back to house and watched the water for hours with wine and charcuterie. Amazingly peaceful. Beautifully decorated and furnished rental. Lots of wildlife. The most comfortable bed ever! Will definitely be back.
