This top floor apartment is of a good size (but see below regarding the useable area) and was near to the beach, places to eat and near the bus route into Málaga Centre. Buses are frequent, reasonably priced at €1.40 each way and seem to run into the night. The apartment is in a quiet area with no noise from outside at night. The outside area is quite large and has some shade. Although the property is surrounded by large buildings, it was good to have an outside area to sit in.

The main problem with the top floor apartment is the steeply sloping roof. We are quite short (5'6) and kept hitting our heads. There is a 3 metre wide strip along the length of the apartment where you can stand upright, but outside of this zone (which includes getting out of bed, most of the kitchen area and the dining area). Ouch! We had read reviews on this and didn't really believe it, but yes, it is true. The other big problem in July is the inadequate Aircon. The top apartment gets the sun on that sloping roof all day as well as the hot air from lower floors. The aircon is old, probably needs a service and in the living room it just can't cope. It's ok in the bedroom at night though. The apartment is in need of maintenance, with a cracked shower tray, bathroom fittings coming away from the wall and an old, rusting table on the patio and a non-working clock on the wall. The bed was ok but very small. Cleaning could have been a little better;, on arrival there were used pods in the coffee machine, a hair on the tea towel and we mopped the sticky floor. A nice touch would have been a couple of coffee pods to use on arrival, and more than the one bin bag for our 9 day stay. Some instructions on settings for the washing machine and local information would have been helpful. We'd also suggest a couple of shelves for packing/unpacking suitcases would be good. The bedroom would benefit from a light switch that's reachable from the bed. Access to the apartment is with a physical key. We felt that an access code or key safe would have been better than taking a bunch of keys to the beach. There was an emergency number, but places tend to have a WhatsApp contact which might have been helpful for directions, arrival and departure details etc Although outside the control of the owner, it is worth mentioning that the street has a flight of steps to get to the beach/buses which would be a problem for people with mobility problems.
