Bohochic Penthouse 3BDR x Pool x Jungle views

New construction in a gated community with a security guard, if you have a car its a good location, halfway between downtown and the beachfront. Rooms and ensuite bathrooms were clean and spacious, plenty of hot water, nice balcony with jungle views. Ran into an issue with the gas but it was fixed the same day pretty quickly.

Communication with the management company/owners was difficult at times, they seemed to only answer the questions that were convenient to them. They refused to acknowledge the constant and very unpleasant smell of sulphur in the apartment. The listing is also somewhat misleading as there are 3 beds, and NO SOFA BED, only a small couch in the living room that lets in a lot of light with no heavy/blackout curtains. The patio pool isnt heated and the water was dirty upon checkin, no one came to clean the penthouse or pool at any point during a weeklong stay. The listing shows a larger pool/spa complex but this is a communal area shared between all the buildings in the community complex that is difficult to find, gets no sun, attracts mosquitoes and is in a general derelict state. There was a few other issues that made the stay a little unpleasant, such as all the water being salty so had to constantly buy bottled water and showering was a little gross if it got your mouth. I understand its a rental property so things are a little neglected, and the kitchen is woefully under equipped, not a single decent knife, we had buy a lot of things: towels, spatula, soap, sponges etc. The complex is built to a very low standard to accommodate the demand from over tourism in Tulum. The ceiling leaked in one of the bedrooms when it rains, the doors rub against the floor in another room, patio doors dont close properly, no smoke detectors or extinguishers, no ventilation in the bathrooms or from the dryer etc.
