Gaja Ayvalık

The property is held by Demet, who is just a delight. She goes out of her way to help. The property is clean and prepared meticulously, with attention to every small detail, as already mentioned in other reviews. It’s clean, new, the facilities are good, AC works properly, and the bathroom is nice. She also makes available slippers, toiletries (shampoo and conditioner in addition to shower gel), some biscuits and a kettle for coffee and tea. There is also a minibar with small things if you have some cravings. I didn’t have breakfast but the backyard is lovely. Demet helped me get a taxi and, since I didn’t have any cash, exchange it for me. My parents run a B&B in Brasil, and I recognised the level of attentiveness and care. Thank you, Demet!

The property itself is lovely, but I did not love the location. I booked this place because it was 10min walk to the port, which is true, but is not in a nice part of the town. To European and American tourists, notably solo female travellers like me, pls note that Ayvalik has not yet been y by international tourists. It’s mainly Turkish people and virtually nobody speaks English. They are all lovely and try to help, but this is something to bear in mind. The apartment is in a very authentic normal part of the city, which feels unpolished and abandoned at times. The actual touristic city center with a beautiful coastal promenade is around 10-15 min walk, and even there it’s not super polished. In a future visit to Ayvalik, I’d stay either in the super touristic center of Ayvalik or in Cunda Island, much more prepared for tourists. But this is simply a personal preference, and the reason for my 9 rating. The property itself is lovely.

The space was very well-maintained, thoughtfully decorated, and aesthetically pleasing, with great attention to detail. Everything was clean and well cared for, and there was a very pleasant scent that made the room feel even more welcoming. The room includes a small minibar and a kettle, and they also offer small complimentary touches such as a bottle of water and some snacks, which is a nice gesture of hospitality. The property also features a beautiful inner courtyard with a bar, perfect for enjoying your coffee, with excellent music choices and a relaxed jazz atmosphere. It is located about 1 km from the port, making it quite convenient, and the staff welcomed us even late at night with professionalism and kindness.

The room does not include a larger refrigerator or additional facilities that would allow you to do more than simply rest. It is more suitable for sleeping and short stays rather than a more comfortable, extended stay with extra amenities.

The owner of the hotel is very kind and welcoming person. She helped us with our small requests,always were answering really quick. The room was clean and we were able for early check in
