Definitely recommend!

Its super cheap and includes the breakfast. We loved that it also had a big pool. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The villa is located on the hill, so you might want to rent a scooter from them to get to town. Its only Rp 80,000 per day. We enjoyed our stay much!

Comfortable bungalows in a quiet area

Very beautiful and spacious rooms. The bed is super comfortable and the outdoor bathroom was very clean and nice. Staff was kind and helpful and also the banana pancakes on the breakfast were very good. The kitchen is open so you can store water on the fridge which is very nice, they also have water refill. Pool is very big and it has a bridge to jump on it. The area is very quiet and isolated from the rest, which makes it very relaxed. Overall I do recommend this place, its a very good price for what you get.

There were minor things that didn't make this a 10/10. The first room we got the wifi was not working and the staff kindly changed us to another room closer to the router. Unfortunately on the second room it was the AC that was not working properly and we had no mini fridge anymore. There is a lot of gecko poo in the room since they are living on the roofs (not a problem itself, just a heads up). My biggest problem was the worn out toilet seats, they must be changed as soon as possible to a more weather-resistant material.

Peaceful wooden cabins

Peaceful, nice pool areas Comfortable and unique wooden huts Reception booked all my boat trips for me at a fair price These cabins are at the top of the hill out of the hustle and bustle. Island is small so you’re close enough to everything on a scooter Tasty breakfast, love the pancakes especially Outdoor showers are nice

Correct place

Quiet place, nice swimming pool, good bed with two pillows

Lovely, relaxing stay

Good budget accommodation.

The price was good - it's a good budget accommodation if you're looking to keep things on the cheaper. They also have bikes for rent and it is quite peaceful during the day. However some mornings there was construction going on at 6am. If you're here for surfing and have a 5.30am surf it's not ideal if you're staying at the bungalow right opposite the pool as people were hanging out at the pool til 10pm some nights and the bungalows aren't very sound proof. That being said there was no partying or loud music or anything, it's just the way the bungalows are built so it can be hit and miss with the outside noise. I did appreciate the bed being made everyday but they didn't clean the bathroom or provide extra toilet paper considering we stayed a week. We asked for extra toilet paper and they gave us 1 roll. So 3 rolls in total for 2 people for 1 week.

Towels were stained yellow and brown and the bedding was stained and ripped. Gecko poo all over the mosquito net and this wasn't cleaned at all during our stay, even when they came in to make the bed. The accommodation says it provides a hairdryer which wasn't in the room. We had to go ask for clean towels/bath mats after 4 days and they only gave us 2 towels back, the bath mat wasn't available? The rooms are also super super dark and lighting isn't great at all. The pictures look better than what you actually get. You have to either keep the curtains open during the day if you want decent light but there's no privacy if you do this. Absolutely no sound proofing either. The property says it offers hot water but it's either scorching hot or cold. The tap was also leaking. I think it's a good place to stay maybe 2 or 3 nights but not for a week or longer, in my opinion.

Beautiful little oasis

Loved how peaceful this place was, it really is a green tropical oasis (exactly what I needed after the stress of city life). The owner is super helpful and was able to help me with anything I needed, the rooms were clean and spacious.

Sam accommodated a last minute booking with early check in for us after our pre booked place cancelled on us. Pool was nice and big Outdoor shower / toilet was clean Beds were very comfy. Boking.com messed up and sent us a cancellation message while we were there, and Sam went out of his way to make sure we were not under any extra stress and made us feel very welcome / reassured that we were OK to stay and pointed us to a very lovely coffee house. We found the location very good as its close to the middle of the island so easy to get anywhere. Say 5-10 mins on a scooter Also the mosquito net around the bed was perfect size

The hot water only lasted maybe 30 seconds at a time, we didn't raise it with the host so not sire of that's what it's soposed to be or if there was an issue with out place.

Exceptional

This is the second review from my wife who extended her stay at Maharatu: The rest of my trip was as good as the first part! Each night was so peaceful and I loved connecting with other guests and staff at Maharatu during the day. The fully-equipped shared kitchen was also a huge bonus and I was able to make meals every day of my stay and still hop on a moto and quickly get into town for any evenings out. Up until the last moment I left the grounds, staff were attentive and helpful and having stayed at other accommodation on the island afterward I can say that this is one of the best, cleanest and most friendliest places you will find! It will definitely be my first choice when returning.

A paradise home away from home

This review is from my wife who stayed and loved her time: In years of travel this is one of the BEST accommodation experiences I've had. The staff at Maharatu are exceptional - so friendly and accommodating, you feel like family not just a guest. The bungalows are so comfortable, clean and the property is beautiful - you look out your window to a tropical garden. Also probably some of the best sleep I've had away from home - with only the sounds of nature at night. I loved this place so much that within two days of staying I extended my stay and will definitely return. The property is located right in the middle of the two sides of the island you'll visit so with a moto you see everything and staff is so helpful for organizing moto + and questions about the island.

Other people have said this but it's very true....leaving is the worst part.

Amazing stay with friendly and welcoming owners!

Our stay at maharatu was amazing! The manager of the villas was very friendly and made us feel very welcome, and always greeted us with a positive and friendly face that made us feel at home. The villa was very well kept and looked after. I would definitely recommend staying here if you want a peaceful place to stay but also a place to make friends at, including the owners beautiful dog Snowy !

Comfiest bed, huge hut and balcony surrounded by jungle.

Maharatu is a hidden delight. Its away from the main strips, surrounded by silent jungle with views to Ceningan. Waking up for sunrise you’re greeted by the sun rising through the canopy to pure silence, broken only by the birds singing their morning chorus. The huts are one of the largest I’ve stayed in, beautifully presented with a huge private terrace. Great for yoga practice, working or chilling. And the bed - wow! Simply the most comfortable I’ve experienced anywhere in Bali! There’s also a huge, deep pool, a communal kitchen and a resident puppy. It’s literally got it all!

You will need to ride scooter. Not a problem for me, but fyi.

Fantastic stay 🤩

Villas were beautiful, super comfy beds and air con. Location made it easy to access beaches/ main town by bike but also maintain serenity ☺️ Really friendly feel to the place - Sam the owner made such an effort to make our stay special and hosted delish meals. I’d definitely recommend!!

Overall is good, i like the place, so comfy. The property is clean, room is spacious and the host was really friendly. The host not always stay but you can ask for the number of the host is you need some help.

The location point on google a little bit wrong, maybe google can bring you to the wrong point. Maybe the host can change the location on google. And the location from main street not so far, but the way to go to this property a bit scary for me, especially when its already dark.

Pas top! malheureusement.

Nous sommes arrivés et 1h après il y avait des fuites au plafond qui coulé sur le lit donc obligé de changer de chambre pas prête avec des problèmes de lumières qui ne fonctionnent pas. Avec la pluie la salle de bain et toilette impossible d'y accéder car rien pour ce protéger de la pluie, obligé de demander du savon et shampoing car les distributeurs n'étaient pas remplis. Petit déjeuner compris dans le prix mais ils n'avaient rien ! donc obligé de descendre en scooter au village sous la pluie. bref je ne recommande pas.

Paraíso con bichos

Lo mejor: los bungalows de madera están en medio de la naturaleza alejado de todo (se necesita moto). La piscina está bien, muy buen sitio para relajarse. La conexión de wifi era buena. Dan agua potable a los huéspedes. Las chicas del staff son muy amables y serviciales, sobre todo Novi, super amable, me ayudó con las reservas de snorkel y del ferry de vuelta. Limpian las habitaciones casi cada día.

Lo peor: sin duda la presencia de tantos insectos. Entiendo que al estar en plena naturaleza es normal encontrarse con bichos, pero en este caso fue excesivo, hay plaga. Me cambiaron dos veces de habitación: la primera porque la mosquitera amaneció llena de termitas que caían del techo, y la segunda porque en la cama apareció una cucaracha, un ciempiés y otros bichos diminutos. Además hay caca de gecko por todas partes… Por otro lado, el interior de los bungalows es de madera oscura y la iluminación es demasiado tenue, lo que hace que el ambiente sea demasiado oscuro. Tal vez para una noche o dos lo hubiese llevado bien, pero me quedé una semana, ya no podía cancelarlo, si no me hubiese ido antes sinceramente. Le daría mucha más nota si no fuese por el tema de los bichos...

Das Personal war unfassbar lieb und hat uns sehr geholfen und wir konnten unsere Wäsche umsonst dort waschen. Es gab eine kleine Küche, Kühlschränke, einen Waschraum, einen tollen großen Pool. In den Bungalows hatte man ein Outdoor Bad und es gab ein Moskitonetz über dem Bett.

Die Tür zum Outdoorbad ließ sich nicht richtig abschließen, aber war nicht schlimm.

Inclusief ontbijt maar je krijgt geen ontbijt….

De bedden lagen erg lekker

We hadden onder andere het verblijf gekozen omdat het inclusief ontbijt was. Ik had de dag ervoor een berichtje gestuurd dat we gingen duiken en vanaf Hoelaat er ontbijt is. Nooit een bericht terug ontvangen. In de ochtend was er niemand en dus ook geen ontbijt. Dus we hebben zelf in de stad nog ontbijt moeten halen. Toen ik aangaf dat we hier teleurgesteld om waren tegen de dames bij de receptie, werden we niet vriendelijk te woord gestaan. 1 zat ook steeds te lachen. Als compensatie wilden ze de dag erna het ontbijt wel klaarmaken, terwijl het ontbijt included was…. Het geeft aan dat het de standaard is. Het verblijf had verder geen sfeer en ligt best afgelegen.

Tolle Unterkunft zu Top-Preis

Schöne Bungalows mit viel Ablagemöglichkeit und großer Terrasse mit Möbeln.Die Klimaanlage funktionierte sehr gut und leise. Das Bad war in Ordnung und wir hatten immer warmes Wasser. Die Betten waren gut und das Mückennetz darum war super. Ein Wasserkocher, Kaffee und Wasser standen bei Ankunft bereit. Poolhandtücher bekamen wir sofort auf Nachfrage. Der Pool ist wunderbar und insgesamt hat es uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Lage schaut man sich ja vorab an,😉 ansonsten ist auch fußläufig ein Markt und ein Spa nach links 5 Minuten. Mit dem Roller ist alles super zu erreichen. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis

Corona hat es der Anlage leider schwer gemacht. Wir wünschen uns, dass es weitergeht für Maharatu. Etwas Aufräumen im Garten, ein wenig Instandhaltung und Pflege würden reichen um es perfekt zu machen.
