About this cabin rental

Enjoying privacy and wildlife (property is surrounded by national forest) in the Rocky Mountains while being only 25 minutes from Red Rocks Amphitheater and Golden, Colorado. Breckenridge, a popular mountain town, is an hour away while travelling west on I-70.

Beds are equipped with brand name quality mattresses, duvet covers, and quality sheets. We pride ourselves in providing luxurious sleeping conditions for our guests. Quality sleep is a priority and necessity to ensure an enjoyable vacation.

Wi-Fi is provided and very reliable at 300mgps. Provided streaming apps include netflix, amazon prime, and hbo on all televisions. There is a washer and dryer available to guests in the basement.

The front door leads into the kitchen / living room. This large room contains a wood burning stove, baseboard heater, heatstorm 1500 btu heater, Bluetooth POLK sound bar with a subwoofer, and a smart tv on an adjustable mount.

The kitchen provides a 5-gallon water dispenser, a reverse osmosis system for drinking water, and a large 6’ x 4’ concrete kitchen island. Fully stocked with a wide array of appliances, kitchen essentials, spices, etc.
This space is perfect for entertaining.

From the front deck, wildlife can be seen across the valley, early in the morning and in the evening. The hummingbirds are very active from May - August. Occasionally, deer, fox, owls, and bear have been seen on this property. Most months of the year, the babbling creek of soda creek road is heard from the deck.

There are two entrances to the cabin off the 400 square foot deck. The deck wraps around the Cabin from the front door, to the side yard. Off the back deck is a large grassy area, a propane grill, and a barrel sauna.

The master bedroom has a walk in closet and private bath with a king bed. Room/bath amenities include dyson hair dryer, curling iron, ironing board w/ iron, and a full size mirror.

The second bedroom has a queen bed, full size miror, and Roku tv.

The third bedroom has a queen bed, closet, and a Roku television.

Each bedroom / bathroom provides radiant heating controlled by a wall thermostat. Space heaters and standing fans can be found in closets.

The couch, in the kitchen, slides out into a queen-sized bed. There are additional sheets in the linen closet upstairs or in the chase of the couch.

Ask about the old mine that was left behind by the pioneers during the Gold Rush. This can be accessed through the forest at the edge of the property.

The driveway is steep in the beginning but is gradual after that section. There is a large lot at the bottom of the driveway, adjacent with the road. This lot can fit about 3 cars if you are unable to ascend driveway (this only happens in Winter months). Luckily, Idaho Springs does not see as much snow precipitation as nearby mountain towns like breckenridge. AWD or 4WD is a necessity during Winter months.

This location offers a .8-mile drive to Miner Street, in Idaho springs. I-70 is 5 minutes away but cannot be heard from this mountain cabin.

Bask in privacy rarely found without being deep in the Rockies, while being close to many of Colorado's great attractions. Disclaimer: The house is currently for sale. Guests will be informed ahead of time if there is a requested showing, by real estate buyers, during their stay. Guests may choose to stay at the property or leave during the showing. Showings last a maximum of 30 minutes. Guests will be required to allow at least three showings during their stay.

Overall nice place. Great location with very nice view, easy access everywhere, nice kitchen, easy in & out. Not thoroughly maintained: thermostats nor baseboard heat worked however space heaters were adequate. Upon arrival noticed shower handle broken off which made using the shower a bit cumbersome. It was suggested to use the water dispenser for drinking & cooking however it was very low when we arrived and the replacement tanks were all empty. Communication rated lower due to the fact I didn't get any response Friday morning when I notified Kody that we had no running water in the house. Luckily it came on within the hour. It would have been nice to know what was going on. Thank goodness we didn't have to leave early...that would have been a huge problem. Also, the check out guidelines were inconsistent - notebook in kitchen said one thing, initial checkout said something different, and final checkout notice said something else i.e. laundry, dishes. All in all we could stay here again.

Thank you for sharing your home with us. We enjoyed Colorado and Idaho Springs. We hoped to see a bear but we saw several deer & elk while visiting Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabin was perfect for our needs during our stay. Thanks again!

My brother, a friend, and I stayed here for a winter vacation. It was perfectly located between Denver airport and winter park where we had rented snowmobiles one day. The town of Idaho Springs has so much to offer with cute shops and restaurants. We even checked out the Indian hot springs one evening which was unique. The house is very conveniently located but still provides you the privacy and stunning views of a mountain escape. We struggled with the door code upon arrival, but thankfully the cleaning crew was just wrapping up and was very kind and helpful. Take note that there is no central heating. The bedrooms were easily kept warm but the living room/kitchen area was quite chilly as we don’t feel comfortable leaving space heaters on unattended. The beds and furniture were all very comfortable. The host, Kody, was very responsive and kind from the moment of inquiry. I would definitely stay here again.
