Temple Cafe & Seaside Cottages

Front room which is half a bungalow with side sea view was basic but nice with a firm but comfortable bed with a nice view. The ocean is literally 15 metres away, so as long as you like the sound of waves crashing at night, it's a nice location and peaceful... provided there's nobody in the adjoining room as you apparently share a ceiling! Beautiful, well kept gardens and the seemingly all female staff are very helpful. We booked 2 nights and ended up staying 4. Adjoining cafe has super cold beer, food is comparatively cheap, but the food certainly isn't the greatest around Candi Dasa in general. Quite a few restaurants nearby, none are particularly of note, but some are ok. The Dining Room was our pick. Massage and spa services available, apparently at reasonable prices. 1 hr massage for 125k or about $10 AUD. Budget friendly, nothing fancy, room has kettle, tea & coffee but no TV, or fridge. Small aircon is effective but it was only August.

To be picky (it was pretty cheap at 350k per night) the noise from adjoining room was a minor irritation, we could plainly hear their conversation (and more.) Construction of the beach board walk makes beach access tricky, (which is beyond the hotel's control) and is taking forever but the noise is minimal and very sporadic. A small fridge would be nice as would a more secure door. The ice cold extra hard fried egg on the Nasi Goreng in this area is very peculiar!

Received a different room to what I booked. Expected budget accommodation, but booked for the deluxe room facing the ocean. Was given a superior room, one back which was very clean, but is very old and the room i was trying not to book. some powerpoints were loose on the wall. Aircon didn't work, and room probably would have been better with just a fan. I am a tourism marketer, so I had booked the front facing room to create marketing content for the area.
