All Day Hostel @ BTS Bang Chak

Recommended if you want to trade cleaniness with convenience. Very potential place to get guests as the hostel is super near the BTS station. Maintenance of everything in the hostel is poor. Looks so run down. Lighting in the interior is bad. Booked a double bed room. Went into the room. Shifted first basket with hair hairdryer from the table top, realised that was a pair of earrings left by previous guest (meaning that part of the top is not clean). Shifted 2nd basket with 1 glass (1 is missing) and 2 cups away and also shifted the kettle away ( I don't boil water, so won't use the kettle) from the table top. The fridge in the room is dirty on the inside and outside. There is a plastic seal from probably a bottled water at the foot of the fridge. The common area for eating is messy. The rubbish bin surface is so dirty that you wondered how to open the bin cover without touching the very dirty surface. Reported about the missing glass and earrings to the receptionist on day 1. Also mentioned to her that the door knob is coming loose. She mentioned she will inform the manager about the lock. Not sure if that message was relayed. The sheets are stained, in retrospect I started to think that they may not even change the sheet. Towel provided is microfiber, that hardly absorb water. The day of check out when I shifted everything back, that’s when I realised there is still water in the kettle. I stayed there 4 nights. Meaning the leftover water in the kettle had been there since the last guest left. That was the last straw, I will never come back here. On my 2nd night I was thinking of returning (booked the free cancellation room) to this place, ( will be in bkk for 21 nights) as I liked the neighbourhood, is quiet and super near to bts station. Day of check out I verbally told the manager (he claimed he was) about the potential place and the poor cleaniness. I asked if the older lady sitting at the reception most of the time supposed to be the one cleaning the place. He responded that she is responsible for cleaning the place. I told him that she is always sitting at the reception. No wonder I had not seen anyone actively cleaning the place. Also mentioned to him that though I did mentioned to the receptionist, no need to clean my room during my stay but is definitely the hostel's responsibility to ensure that the place is clean before the guest check in to the room. The manger was apologetic to what I has experienced. Not sure what will be done though. Will never come back.

I’ve stayed at hostels in this area before and I must say this hostel is the worst one I’ve ever been to. I stayed in a 4-bed room with bad odor, web cobs, and ants for a week. It was so dusty that my allergies were going absolutely haywire all the time in the room. In the bathroom the walls don’t seem clean and both hair dryers are broken. The liquid soap aren’t even filled for days sometimes. The staff said they’ll be available till 9PM but they actually leave well before then. Also in the common dining room there’s always people’s personal things scattered about, the laundry area is a mess, and the dryer that you have to pay for doesn’t even properly work. The hostel seems like it used to be a good place but it’s definitely not currently.
