I stayed here for 30 days, and perhaps the best thing I can say is that during that entire month, I never seriously considered moving somewhere else. The staff was exceptional. The property has its rules and operates carefully within them. If the policy says two bottles of water a day, they mean two bottles of water a day. 😂 But within those guidelines, the staff consistently did everything they could to make sure I was comfortable and had what I needed. The housekeeping staff deserves special recognition. My room was always cleaned extremely well, and whenever there was even a small mistake, they were quick to apologize and make it right. They were professional, hardworking, attentive, and consistently kind. Because I was staying longer, I was offered one of the larger, newer rooms. It was spacious and comfortable and, other than occasionally wishing I had a microwave, I really had very little reason to complain. What I appreciated most, though, was simply feeling welcome. I originally expected to spend more of my time exploring Bangkok, but this portion of The Peacemaker’s Passage became much more of a working stay than I anticipated. I had conference work and other responsibilities that required long hours and considerable focus. In an unexpected way, that made the location even more valuable. Rather than experiencing Bangkok primarily as a tourist, I got to experience the rhythm of an ordinary Thai neighborhood. I could walk outside and find local food, an ATM, everyday businesses, and the BTS nearby whenever I needed to travel farther. For a month, this little part of Bangkok became my neighborhood. I could work when I needed to work, walk outside and participate in everyday life when I needed a break, and return to a place where I consistently felt welcomed, comfortable, and secure. Sometimes the measure of a good extended stay is very simple: Did I feel that I had agency? Yes. Did I feel safe? Yes. Did the people make me feel welcome? Absolutely. Would I stay again? Without hesitation.

I stayed at Romance Hotel Sukhumvit 97 since I was studying at Bangkok University International Collage (BUIC) long time ago. I really enjoyed my stays until now. And I will stay again whenever I visit to Bangkok.
