Downtown Luxury 4 Bed in Historic Neighborhood

I am sure the renter will point out that we received a full refund (like they had a choice) and that an act of god caused them to cancel our rental 4 hours before (an outright lie). It is a lie because of our short conversation when I called to get directions and check in early. The conversation: Me, "Hi, I would like to check in early. Cody, "Sure. Which rental are you in?" Me, "The one near downtown Phoenix. We are the group attending the conference." Cody, in a happy voice, "Is this Ashley?" Me, surprised. "No, this is Shawn!" In a not-so-happy voice, Cody, "Oh. Let me call you back," and hung up. 30 seconds later, our reservation was canceled. It is completely obvious that Cody had double-booked us. That week, 20,000 extra people were in downtown Phoenix, and all the hotels were booked. Those that were not were $600+ a night. Two employees were sent home. The three left had to get accommodation 30 minutes away from the venue. Greed and ego got the better of Cody and team, as did their deplorable decorum and inability to honor an honest business transaction. I ask that the community hold them accountable for their dishonesty and request that you think twice about staying with them because of their lack of respect for the traveler. I am giving them a big fat ZERO--I gave a three (3) because folks think 3s are seen as more credible and informative. If the community does not police itself, we will end up having horrible experiences like this one.
