Abbey Cottage and the village of Mousehole are an absolute treat!

If I could, I would return to Abbey Cottage in a heart beat! I’m fortunate that my partner and I travel quite a lot and we’ve stayed in some lovely places. Abbey Cottage is one of the nicest cottages we’ve stayed in. Be aware that it is a small cottage, set in a tiny seaside village. Its size is part of its charm. The cottage itself is very well appointed with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were extremely comfortable. Everything was extremely clean and looked new. Gail, the host, was wonderfully helpful and friendly. She lives close by, so it was easy to have a chat with her, if we needed. If we return to south Cornwall, we would love to stay in Abbey Cottage again.

Brilliant little house in a beautiful spot!

It was extremely conveniently situated right in the middle of the village, but very quiet. It was warm, comfortable and very clean. Gail met us on arrival and was very welcoming and helpful when giving us the guided tour of the house.

Gail and Lynn, her friend who met us, are both so friendly and welcoming and Gail's communication was excellent. The cottage is in a fantastic location 😀 and is immaculate, cosy and so comfortable. Just lovely and has everything you need for a super stay ❤️ First class and can't wait to return.

The location is very nice, in a quiet alley but very close to the harbour and restaurants.

It is very difficult to find parking. There is some parking at the harbour a few minutes walk away but it is narrow and most often full. The cottage itself is very small and the heights of the doors are low so one needs to stoop to get through. Also, the bathroom is a bit grimy, for instance there is mildew around the shower door and on the ceiling. Lastly, although I never met the owner in person, in the communication I had with her by email before my stay she was a bit rude and gave the impression that she was only interested in the money.

The cottage was so quaint and homely. It had everything we needed inside and was in the perfect location - seconds away from the harbour! It was a little gem of a cottage. Would also highly recommend The Four Teas Cafe for a cream tea or some lunch! Gail was the perfect host!
