Gegenüber der Mühle

Die Lage war perfekt für mich. Ich war zu einer Geburtstagsfeier eingeladen und konnte die Location fussläufig erreichen. Mehr wollte ich nicht. Es war alles super und ich konnte mir vorstellen, länger zu bleiben.

Ich habe nichts zu beanstanden. Frühstück war nicht inkludiert. Hat mich aber auch nicht gestört.

Upon arrival, the hostess was present to point me towards the on-premise parking option at the front porch and answer questions, which I found to be very attentive. Across my entire stay she was very helpful and kind. The room itself is large and includes a couch to lounge in. The bathroom was well kept and shower was comfortable. The kitchen does not include a microwave or oven, but it does include a refrigerator to store your cool drinks. Some cutlery and cups are available to make some tea or coffee. Bring your own supplies though. The nearby Beergarten Unter 2 Linden allows for a well spent evening and also includes some dining options, which are excellent. The Eifel area is such a great area to relax in and explore nature, and from here you can go anywhere in Nationalpark Eifel. Even the Vulkaneifel is just about an hour's drive away. The Vogelsang complex is also about 20 minutes driving from here, you can park your car in Gemünd and hike from there.

Parking in front of the property can get a bit difficult because there isn't too much space. Guests of the other apartment can also park by car and when I arrived in the evening some event was happening downstairs so I had to park nearby across the street and wait for when the event was over to park the car close again. I like closed curtains at night to block the outside out, but these curtains are a bit small and it can be hard to get them closed up properly. To properly sleep in these summer temperatures the sheets were luckily very light. But a bit small. I'm a bit tall and was just able to fit underneath. The walls are a bit thin so if there are guests present in the other apartment you can clearly hear them. There are no breakfast options and the town itself does not have a bakery. You need to bring your own supplies from supermarkets in nearby towns or eat breakfast nearby. I had breakfast in Gemünd at Eifeler Brotkörbchen once, it was excellent.

De hostess was zeer vriendelijk en de ligging is er handig. Ov en goedkope Biergarten op loopafstand, interessante bezienswaardigheden en wandelmogelijkheden dichtbij.

Het matras is erg dun en het bed klein. Voor één persoon prima. Ik vond het helemaal niet zo schoon: overal spinnenwebben, stof en insectjes. De grote ramen hebben geen hor of zonwering. Je moet ze echter wel openzetten vanwege de temperatuur, maar je hebt dan erg veel geluid van de weg, zelfs achter, en er komen gegarandeerd muggen en nachtvlinders binnen. Nette keuken, maar weinig moderne attributen. Het appartement wordt door een heel klein halletje van het andere appartement gescheiden. Je hoort werkelijk alles. Niet heel prettig als dan om 23:30 nog nieuwe gasten aankomen.
