    I had a very pleasant stay at Dorsett Melbourne overall, and I’d absolutely stay again. The location is superb – so many sights, eateries, and tram stops are within easy walking distance, which made getting around a breeze. The hotel itself is modern and well kept. My room was spacious, quiet, and very comfortable, with nice amenities and a clean, thoughtful layout. Everything functioned as it should, and housekeeping did a great job throughout my stay. On the service side, I do want to mention one thing honestly, but kindly. On several occasions when I approached the front desk with questions or small requests, one particular young female staff member struggled to understand my English and needed me to repeat myself each time. I’ve travelled to over 20 countries and rarely had this issue, so it did catch me off guard. She was never rude or dismissive – in fact, she seemed genuinely trying – but the repeated miscommunication made me prefer going to other front‑desk colleagues instead, simply to save time and avoid confusion. Every other staff member I dealt with was perfectly clear and efficient. I share this not as a complaint, but as constructive feedback – a bit more practice in handling different accents would make a real difference. That said, this didn’t spoil my experience. I still left with a very positive impression of the hotel, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Melbourne.

    Overall a good place to stay. A walk away to southern cross station. Tram station. Good breakfast and indoor heated swimming pool. My daughter have so much fun

    I stayed for a night with my son. We chose the hotel due to it reportedly being good for families. When we arrived at 2pm the woman at check in was cold and just barked at me for my photo I'd. After that she told us "check in isn't until 3 so come back then" . When we returned we were checked in and handed a piece of paper with the hotels facilities on it and no more interaction from the staff. Service was really poor and the hotel was very unclean. Our room looked like it hadn't been mopped in a while and it was dusty The pool was a huge disappointment, I took my son at 6pm and there was discarded cups and rubbish around everywhere, and used towel. The jacuzzi was empty with no sign just towels around the outside. I asked st reception when we left what was happening and the lady advised it needed repair, it would have been nice to have been told at check in that it was not in operation . Breakfast was average at best. We have stayed at dorsett hotels in Hong Kong and had a great experience so this was a real disappointment.
