Golden Sunset House Free Parking By My Getaways

The property was very well sited as close to the beach, shops and within easy walking distance of all the amenities of central Brighton. The house was plenty roomy enough for the 7 of us and we enjoyed sitting outside during the evening. Having 3 bathrooms was great as was having a parking space for one car. We found the property had been cleaned well and the kitchen was well equipped too.

The main thing that would improve the property immensely would be for the windows to be replaced so that they could be opened further. Several window catches were in a poor state as were the frames. Repairing the balconies and being able to open the balcony doors would also be a bonus and we did have some concerns about the ease of being able to evacuate the property quickly in the event of a fire, especially from the top floor. Because of the inability to open the windows very far, the bedrooms got quite hot (especially the one on the top floor) but we were grateful for the fans provided. And the door handle to the ground floor bedroom could do with being replaced as it would not stay in place.

Great location, spacious, free parking for one car, comms with host company were great.

Bit run down in places and also not as clean as would hope - generally clean in main areas but surfaces, etc very dusty. Also, not enough nice glasses and cups for a house that size. Not even enough matching wine glasses for one per person and we were there for a celebration. Outside of the building looks run down and fire evac plan was worrying as none of balcony doors opened and yard is enclosed. Shame not to be able to use balconies too.

The location was excellent with shops, beach and centre of Brighton nearby. We could walk everywhere. The key box was helpful. There were lots of pots and pans, cooking utensils and dishes. Very good sized fridge/freezer. Good parking space for car. House was clean and beds comfortable. Good to have washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets available. Good sized lounge.

Not all the rooms were equipped with two bedside lights. There was only one French Window that opened to the outside. All the others were locked shut. The windows opened about 2 centimetres and that was with difficulty. The one door that did open, opened out from the kitchen to the little patio outside but it was filled weeds, dead plants in pots and not inviting at all. No scissors provided. All the drinking tumblers were of odd sizes and no sets. Need more hooks, especially in bathroom on second floor. No wardrobes in any bedrooms. Small clothes horse was broken. No instructions on how to use white goods or tourist information for Brighton. Instructions on wall for recycling, inadequate with no bags for contents other than 1 extra for landfill.

The location was excellent, very close to the seafront but also within easy reach of local supermarkets. The parking space was a bonus and one of the reasons we booked. Buses are nearby too.
