Beautiful Victorian Villa in Perth

Its beautiful and spacious! I have always dreamed of a Victorian home like this and this one was just what I have dreamed of. I loved that it had the window shades and lovely drapes and the 2 ensuites and a washer and dryer. Loved the Perth area too.

It is located on somewhat of a busy street so it was a bit noisy with the window open at night. There was a bit of an odd smell near the base of the stairs but other than that everything else was next to perfect.

The house was lovely even nicer than it looks in the pictures. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was clean. It was perfect for our stay & Jamie the host was very responsive to messages & questions asked. Would definitely return & wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accommodation. Well worth the money

Nothing, everything was great

The accommodation is ideally situated in Perth. A 15-20 minute walk (depending on how able bodied you are) to Perth high street/museums etc. The property is a grand Victorian building, beautifully furnished, very clean, parking and lots of extras like condiments, cereals, milk, toiletries etc. Comfortable beds and plenty of toilet rolls and towels (although they smelt slightly damp - maybe folded whilst not fully dry?). It was always kept a lovely temperature without us having to touch a thermostat.

The negatives have left a bad taste in my mouth. There is a main storm door where you enter in to a small porch then a glass internal wood door with a Yale lock on it to enter the hallway. The main door didn’t have a key and the door was left ajar even when we tried to close it. We didn’t feel safe with it being open and unlocked like this. We asked the host who advised us it was be fixed next week. We felt like this should’ve been dealt with immediately with an emergency locksmith as a glass panelled wood framed door and Yale lock is in no way suitable. At the very least we should’ve been told in advance of the situation. We don’t accept that any location is “safe” and therefore the door shouldn’t be a concern for us. For our own safety we decided to place a fire extinguisher against the door to prevent it from lying open. Imagine our horror when we discovered one evening the fire extinguisher had been moved and the door was once again lying ajar as someone had entered our holiday let. We are so grateful that none of the young children witnessed this through the glass door or they would’ve been genuinely terrified and I’ve no doubt we would’ve had to leave that same night. Anyone randomly entering a holiday let that you have full use of is completely unacceptable under any circumstances. The broken door and this incident left us feeling very vulnerable and unsafe. The host was apologetic but it still made us extremely unsettled and nervous. I hope lessons will be learnt as this should not be allowed to happen.
