    The location of this hostel is nice. Restaurants and grocery store nearby, along with a station not far off. The staff, particularly KEN, was wonderful and went the extra mile to ensure that my stay was comfortable and welcoming.

    This place doesn't do a whole lot differently from other hostels everywhere in the general Sumida river area. You get an ok bunk bed in an average-sized room with a shared (separate) toilet and shower. There's a second toilet on the floor for all to use. The privacy curtains for your bed are quite good at keeping light (and peering eyes) out. But guests are bad at putting shoes away, leading to a cluttered entrance to the dorms. And forget the lock. Almost no one locks the door behind them. No stairs is a bit of a bummer as you have to wait for the elevator every time and with the shared area/reception on the 7th and rooms below, it can get annoying. Speaking of which, the small kitchen space is functional and will allow one (and only one) person to comfortably prepare meals. Others will have to wait. On the other hand, the large tatami floor open space and non-tatami in front of the reception desk is pretty cool. The area around the hotel is fine. It's near the sumo hall and easy walking distance to a JR chuo station (which leads to Tokyo, Shinjuku and Chiba) and a bit further away from a subway one. Food options are not lacking, of note is a wonderful unassuming Vietnamese place a stone's throw away. The chanko nabe spots are a bit on the tourist trap side of thing. Walking along the Sumida river is always a treat. The staff was nice, but I had limited interactions with them. Note that everything is digital - no one will take physical money (even coins) for anything.

    There was some miscommunication with one of their staff. As a result, another staff member became irate. I had been using reserved for computer use, apparently outside regular hours. The 2nd person was not aware that I had been given permission to use it. Unfortunately, I was ordered to leave - very uncomfortable situation to say the least. I strongly suggest that the staff use the translation feature of WeChat.
