Bijzondere locatie: op een eiland waar alles te voet of met de watertaxi gaat. Midden in een regenwoud. Vriendelijk personeel, iedereen was behulpzaam.

Het complex was nog niet helemaal klaar. Naast het zwembad werd nog een appartement gebouwd. Zorgde niet voor overlast maar toch.

We had a really nice stay at Tropical Arts Resort on Carenero Island. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment, which was more than suitable for our needs. The apartment was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed, including cooking facilities, although we mostly ate out as the restaurants on the island were very good. Karen gave us some great recommendations, and everything was within a short walk. The island and location We did the loop walk around the island on our first day, which took just under an hour and a half and was a lovely way to explore. There is also a small beach on the other side of the island, around a 20-minute walk away. The path was quite muddy after the rain, but it was still perfectly walkable, and the beach itself was really nice and completely empty when we visited. The location is also really convenient for getting to Bocas del Toro. The water taxi is only around five minutes and costs $2 per person. We also took a water taxi to Wizard Beach and Red Frog Beach for $6 per person, which made for a great day out. Facilities The pool was a really good size and was a great place to relax. One of the biggest highlights for me personally was the gym. I used it every morning and was genuinely impressed with it. It is far better equipped than the typical hotel gym with a few outdated pieces of equipment. There was more than enough equipment for anyone who enjoys keeping active while on holiday. The resort was also very quiet during our stay, which suited us really well. The property is currently undergoing renovations and having additional features added, so I can imagine it will be even more impressive once everything is completed. That said, the work didn’t negatively affect our stay at all — if anything, the quieter atmosphere was a bonus for us. Staff and service Karen met us when we arrived and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay.

The property is in a construction phase so lots of disruption along the walkways, access to pool and noisy at times. Also if weather is bad it’s hard to get to restaurants.
