This lovely brick triplex, built in 1923 is an example of American Foursquare or Prairie Box style architecture. Nor'easter, is a 3 bedroom, 1.5+ bath getaway modestly furnished with formal dining room, large kitchen, open front porch, small backyard garden with a shared hot water outdoor shower. This pet-friendly home is a short bike ride, golf cart jaunt, or walk, minutes to fabulous shops, galleries and restaurants the town has to offer.
Cape Charles, a railroad town founded in 1884, was surveyed by the Virginia Department of Historic resources in 1989 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. The town has numerous examples of building styles including Victorian, Colonial Revival, Craftsman and Neoclassical dating between 1880s and 1940s. Bay Creek, a private, upscale residential development bordering on the north and south ends of town offers two signature golf courses, Jack Nicolas and Arnold Palmer. In the last several years the real estate market has gone off the charts!
Virginia Living’s 2020 Best of Virginia reader’s poll recognized 27 town businesses and attractions in 29 categories as being among the best in Virginia. Revitalization efforts through a recent initiative, Cape Charles Main Street, have indeed put the town on the map as a tourist destination!
