Vila Julieta Guesthouse

Run by a charming couple, Vila Julieta is a gem. Sympathetic restoration, tasteful decor and generous breakfast. Lovely garden to relax in.

Although we enjoyed the location it is a little further out of the centre. However, good value Bolt taxis for €3 made return journeys up hill much easier. Please don't be put off, it is a lovely place to stay. Highly recommended.

This was our second visit. It’s a lovely guesthouse very simply but tasteful furnished. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly. It’s very clean and comfortable. They encourage you to sit in the garden and enjoy.

There’s nothing we didn’t like about Via Julieta It’s lovely and a great base for exploring the beautiful city of Coimbra. As it’s very hilly our strategy was to walk downtown and take an uber home !

We were given a wonderful welcome by Jonah. He gave us lots of tips and apologised, and said they would have given us a bigger room if they knew we had big suitcases (7 week holiday). The breakfast was great and it was awe inspiring to listen to them jump from being fluent in English, French, German and Portuguese (also Dutch for at least Jonah). The place was spotless with nice communal areas and a garden.

I can’t rave enough about this place. I enjoyed everything from the clean and perfect room all the way to the hostesses and their kindness. Very well thought out and intentional charm. The openness of the owners was really the best part. They just have a way of welcoming everyone and making them feel special and taken care of. A true home away from home experience. Breakfast was fab, the garden/patio area was welcoming and I will of course tell everyone about this stay from here on out whenever I talk about Coimbra.

I just loved it all.
