Coralview Island Resort

We had a wonderful stay at Coral View Island Resort in Fiji and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The location is beautifully quiet, making it perfect for unwinding and enjoying the natural surroundings. One of the highlights of our trip was the visit to Sawa-i-Lau Cave. It was an unforgettable experience, made even better by our amazing guide, Tori, who was knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel completely at ease throughout the excursion. All of the staff at the resort were fantastic—welcoming, attentive, and always willing to help. Everyone contributed to creating such a warm and enjoyable atmosphere. Overall, it was a truly relaxing holiday in a stunning setting, and we’re very grateful for the experience.

A beautiful little place in paradise - Coralview was the perfect place for 2 nights. The staff are lovely - and we very much enjoyed Matthews tours (fishing, Blue Lagoon and cabbage reef) - he was a great guide. The resort is fantastic value for money. Oh and the food - AMAZING! Delicious and huge portions. You’ll not go hungry. Highly recommend.

I recently stayed at Coralview Resort, and honestly, I struggled to find anything positive to say. The biggest letdown was definitely the food — a consistent disaster from start to finish. Upon arrival, there was no greeting or welcome, which set a cold tone. The resort itself felt bleak and depressing, with just six hammocks for all guests to share, and absolutely nowhere comfortable to sit or relax aside from those. There was almost no music most of the time, and when it was played, it was so loud and inappropriate it became unbearable. The food was worse than terrible. Every single one of the four courses was a failure. They ask you in the morning to pick your lunch and dinner from a menu board full of enticing descriptions — but that’s where creativity ends. Lunch on arrival was cold pizza overloaded with cheese and drenched in barbecue sauce — difficult to eat and frankly unappetising. That evening’s dinner offered steak or quinoa salad. I requested my steak medium rare, but what arrived was overcooked by at least 15 minutes, smothered in barbecue sauce, and so tough that knives struggled to cut it. Many guests sent back their steaks untouched. The tomato soup starter was decent, but the samosas were clearly frozen store-bought ones — two tiny pieces with, yes, more barbecue sauce. Dessert was a wafer-thin slice of caramelized pineapple, sickeningly sweet. Breakfast on day two was basic — a tiny selection of fruit, cereal, toast, and instant coffee. I ordered salad for lunch — but got fish and chips instead. The fish was so-so, but the chips were dreadful. Dinner that evening was baked eggplant or pan-fried fish with seasonal vegetables. I chose the fish, but it was tough and overcooked again, with much left uneaten. Day three breakfast was the same old offering; I grabbed a muffin to keep in my fridge just in case. Lunch choice was spaghetti bolognese or penne with vegetables. The bolognese had no tomato and tasted like bland mince. Dinner was pumpkin soup (burnt and unpleasant and included the skin blended into it), followed by “tempura prawns” that turned out to be deep-fried bits with a strange peanut butter sauce. I picked chicken stir fry for main but the soggy rice resembled congee and the stir fry was downright disgusting — I didn’t eat either. Dessert, a “strawberry gelato,” arrived as melted strawberry juice, utterly unrecognisable. Day four breakfast: the bacon was cold and the plate was swimming in fat; the hash browns arrived cold. I requested hot ones and was delivered two more cold ones. In summary, it’s painfully clear the kitchen staff has no idea how to cook properly. This was reminiscent of camp food for children — which honestly might have been better. The pretence of four-course meals should be dropped entirely; instead, Coralview should focus on serving simple, well-cooked food made with care. Save yourself the time Sadly, I cannot recommend Coralview Resort. The atmosphere, facilities, and especially the food left much to be desired.
