About this house rental

A charming, old-fashioned apartment with modern touches, 2 bedrooms, in the heart of Quebec City, near the Grand Théâtre and the Grande Allée

Everything is within walking distance. Live in a beautiful, spacious 2-bedroom apartment full of character, with its slightly warped hardwood floors and vintage light switches, yet featuring new, modern furniture. You’ll have approximately 800 square feet (74.33 square meters) of living space on the 2nd floor of the building. The apartment features a front door and a back door, a very large living room, a dining room separate from the kitchen, a balcony with a coffee nook, air conditioning, heat via a heat pump, plus an independent heating system in each room. In terms of amenities, you’ll have a dishwasher, washer, and dryer, as well as a massive 60-inch TV with access to 1,500 TV channels—including 400 in French—via a Fire Stick. Well-appointed and in a great location, you’ll live right in the heart of Quebec City.

Diagonally across from the apartment, you’ll find the Grand Théâtre; you’re just one block from the Grande Allée, right next to the Quebec Provincial Parliament, just a few steps from the Plains of Abraham Museum and the Plains of Abraham themselves, the Cinéma Cartier, and the Observatoire de la Capitale—where you can see the entire city from above—and a short walk from the Saint-Louis Gate leading to Old Quebec. The Consulate General of France is just a few doors down from the apartment. Enjoy a comfortable stay with all the charm of the historic neighborhoods. There’s even a pastry shop right in your apartment building—perfect for treating yourself!

All major bus routes pass through the area. If you’re driving, you can choose between two public (paid) underground parking garages (Indigo and another one accessible via Jacques-Parizeau Street). There are several parks, including Parc de l’Amérique-Française, Parc de la Francophonie, Parc de l’Esplanade, and, of course, the Plains of Abraham. You’re just five blocks from the famous Cartier Street, where you’ll find everything you’re looking for. Shops, an “ SAQ, ” outdoor cafes, restaurants, and a Metro supermarket (for groceries).

You’ll have easy access to Old Quebec with its historic attractions, including the Château Frontenac, the Notre-Dame-de-Québec Basilica, the Parliament Building, the Quebec City ramparts, the fortifications, the Montebello Towers, various museums, and more. Lower Town, the Petit Champlain district, the Old Port, and several performance venues are located nearby.

The Parliament Hill area is located in Upper Town, just before you cross the fortifications. It features numerous government buildings, the famous Plains of Abraham, and the lively section of Grande Allée.
Battlefields Park, which includes the Plains of Abraham, was established in 1908 to mark the 300th anniversary of Quebec City. It is Canada’s first national historic park.

It was on the Plains of Abraham that the famous Battle of the Plains took place, an event that shaped the history of Quebec City and even North America. The Battle of 1759 was a historic clash between French and British troops for control of the Quebec territory. The two armies faced off again a few months later at the Battle of Sainte-Foy. The British’s decisive victory had a significant impact on Quebec City’s architecture, defensive system, and urban planning.
