THE GREEN VALLEY begins with Saint-Nectaire, Murol, Lac Chambon, and Chambon-sur-Lac, and ends with the Chaufour Valley, overlooked by the Puy de Sancy.The chalet is a 5-minute walk from Lake Chambon. From the chalet, there are numerous hiking trails that can be extended or shortened as you please. Within a 30-km radius lies the medieval village of Besse-en-Chandesse. SUPER BESSE is a winter sports resort; in the summer, it offers numerous sports activities and a large heated swimming pool. The gondola can take you to the top of the resort, and a ridge trail leads to the Puy de Sancy. In the SANCY mountain range, you’ll find the spa towns of MONT DORE and LA BOURBOULE, as well as VULCANIA and the PUY DE DOME. The LEMPTEGYE volcano and the entire Puys mountain range are nearby, along with numerous lakes. In winter, a shuttle is available to take you to the SUPER BESSE resort across from the chalet, or you can drive to Besse-en-Chandesse and take a shuttle to the resort, which runs every half hour.
