As far as our holiday was concerned, we were specifically looking for accommodation away from large tourist centres, with all the noise and crowds they bring. Staying with the incredibly kind and welcoming Mrs. Manuela gave us exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed peaceful mornings on the terrace surrounded by olive trees, with a beautiful view of the mountains, as well as quiet and relaxing evenings without any disturbances. The only price you have to pay for such peace and tranquillity is a 25-minute drive to the beaches. However, the scenery along the way down to the Makarska Riviera is absolutely magical and an experience in itself. And the beaches you reach are among the most beautiful in the world — comfortable white pebbles, crystal-clear water, and the opportunity to enjoy the sun in the natural shade of the Adriatic pine trees. The apartment was very comfortable, exceptionally clean, and fully equipped. We had two terraces at our disposal, furnished with tables and chairs, as well as our own jacuzzi and barbecue. Above all, we were delighted by the wonderful hospitality of our incredibly kind host, Mrs. Manuela, who was always available whenever we needed anything. We highly recommend this place and have nothing but praise for our stay. We would happily return!

There are, however, two things that are worth mentioning. First, the descent to the Makarska Riviera involves driving along narrow roads with lots of hairpin bends. The people who drive these roads are mostly locals, for whom this is simply part of everyday life. As a result, their driving may seem extremely fast and somewhat reckless to tourists who are driving these roads for the first time and naturally take things more cautiously. On the other hand, your own driving will probably seem incredibly slow to them, as if you were a complete beginner — and they will most likely make that quite clear to you. For anyone who is sensitive to this kind of driving, this could be somewhat uncomfortable. Personally, it wasn't a problem at all. I deliberately drove slowly, not only for safety reasons but also because I wanted to enjoy the spectacular scenery along the way. The second thing I would mention is the presence of tiny insects, even smaller than mosquitoes, whose bites may diminish the enjoyment for some people of those otherwise wonderful evenings. Of the five of us, I was the only one who got bitten. I chose to take it as a compliment! 🤌🏼😄 Fortunately, the accommodation was also equipped with various means of keeping these little pests away.
