Prachtige omgeving, perfecte woning en vriendelijke host!

Er prettige host. Prijs-kwaliteit erg goed. Let wel op, het gewone huisje, de goekopere, is niet wat je op de foto's ziet. Dit huisje is minder luxe.

While the farm itself is lovely and situated in a wonderfully remote, lesser-known area of South Africa that I personally love and value, the booking experience was marred by misrepresentation. The issues: Misleading imagery: When booking, the gallery primarily featured the main farmhouse and pool. I was under the firm impression that this was the unit I was securing. Instead, we were placed in a two-bedroom cottage without a pool or the views promised in the initial advertisement. Admission of fault: To the host's credit, they admitted during our discussion that the photos had been changed recently due to similar feedback from other guests. This confirms that the listing at the time of booking would be considered misleading. Pricing mismatch: As a managing director of a well known international tour operating business for ten years, I am well-versed in global pricing structures. The rates charged for the cottage do not align with the product offered, its remote location, or the lack of "prime" views. Even for the international market, the value proposition remains questionable (eg Boschendal cottage is priced similar: prime location / top tourist spot, incredible facilities. The feedback: I assumed a partial compensation to reflect the difference between the advertised "farmhouse experience" and the actual cottage stay. The host explained that their rates are geared toward international guests and were set by an external consultant. Conclusion: In my extensive travel experience, there is a mismatch between expectation and reality. For the price paid, the farmhouse would have been fair; for the cottage, it was overpriced. I would strongly encourage the owners to reconsider their pricing strategy—perhaps by implementing a tiered rate card for local versus international guests—and to ensure their marketing material is honest about which specific unit a guest is paying for.
