Paramount Apartments Ilfracombe, arty seaside holiday apartments

The Paramount was one of the most enjoyable apartment stays of my trip. Helen is an exceptional host — easily the most proactive and thoughtful host of any rental I stayed in during this journey through Wales and southwest England. Before arrival, she sent a very organized WhatsApp guide covering everything from locating the apartment to navigating local traffic and parking. It made arrival completely stress-free. Throughout my stay, she checked in regularly to make sure everything was going smoothly and was always ready with recommendations for restaurants, sightseeing, and local drives. The apartment itself is bright, colorful, and beautifully designed. Helen is an artist, and it shows throughout the space — vibrant colors, eclectic antiques, tapestries, and creative touches that somehow feel both stylish and relaxing rather than overdone. The apartment was spotless, fresh, and very comfortable. Excellent bed — I slept soundly both nights. Large sitting area with a comfortable sofa and dining/work table. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. The bathroom deserves special mention. Large by UK standards, with an outstanding shower — strong water pressure and an actual roomy shower stall where you’re not constantly bumping elbows against the walls. Another major plus: only a small number of steps to access the apartment. After carrying luggage up countless steep staircases elsewhere during this trip, that was greatly appreciated. There is no dedicated parking space for the apartment, but that was not an issue. Free street parking or reasonably priced paid parking was only a short walk away. One feature I especially appreciated: the apartment is pet free. So many UK rentals advertise themselves as “dog friendly,” which can be difficult for travelers with allergies. I am sensitive to dog dander and odors, so finding such a clean, fresh, pet-free apartment was a huge plus.

This is an exceptional property, probably one of the best I've stayed in. Helen is a fantastic host, and her eye for detail and design really shines throughout the property. Super cozy with everything you need to feel home from home.
