OMIŠ Dream house Blue sky

The hosts are two delightful and open young people with children. The house has a warm family atmosphere. They both speak excellent English and share very interesting stories and useful information. Upon arrival, we were very warmly welcomed and in the apartment there was treat waiting for us in the form of bread, cold cuts, cheese and fruits. Very nice after a long journey. The location of the apartment is great. A five minute walk is a pretty big beach with lots of shade and a restaurant right on the water. The other much larger beach is five minutes by car or ten minutes away on foot. There you will find a large parking lot, a restaurant and a cocktail bar. A few steps from the apartment there are three restaurants, a well-equipped general grocery store and a fruits stall. You don't have to worry about traffic jams in Omis. The apartment is in such a place that you can get close to the old town bypassing traffic jams and park for free. The apartment is beautiful, bright and well equipped with new things. It has an amazing sea view. Here you can happily greet a new day with breakfast on the terrace and enjoy the sunset in the evening. It has underground parking but I loved parking under a green pergola with plants.

There are a few minor things to improve, but this does not affect the very good rating of this apartment. The air conditioning is a bit noisy. The toilet is a bit weird. There is always more water in the shell than you might expect. Some doors creak which is a bit of a nuisance at night.

The apartment was as advertised. Not a luxury apartment, but a clean, modern and functional one. Freshly renovated, our family of four appeared to be the first guests. We had the top floor apartment, and it felt spacier than it appeared in the pictures. The balcony with a view was indeed nice, above other houses, broad view to the gulf. The owner family speaks and writes excellent English and was very responsive to the rare issues we faced. So you can trust the description to be accurate. The entrance is indeed private, parking is easy, all apartment is clean, all appliances are modern and good brands, Internet is fast (measured 60 MB downstream, watching Netflix etc flawlessly with the Smart TV). The AC unit was slightly noisy but given the heat wave during our holiday, we were happy to leave it alone just to do its hard job. Other pro tips for active families: (1) the sandy Duce beach on the other side of Omiš is excellent for smaller kids and (2) Fitness center Joker sells 15-day membership for 33 EUR; really nice gym with friendly staff and (3) many boat options, we opted for Tornado's 1-day tour to Brac as they organized for us also a ride from the house and (4) the rafting scene down the river is the big thing in Omiš. Unfortunately, our youngest kid was too young for that but I could see families with teenagers having a blast.

You will definitively make the most out of the stay if you have a car and enjoy driving to places, near and far. The house is not within a walking distance from the nice restaurants of Omiš so you need to do a 10-min drive (tip: Bmove app makes parking easy). Remember excursions to Split, Krka, Mostar, Kravice waterfalls may take time because of the mountain crossing and unpredictable traffic jams. But if you factor that in, the house provides a good base for a holiday (we were there 12 days). There is still enough of stuff in Nemira, a handy groucery store 100 meters from the house and the local Nemira pebble beach with the beach bar and sunbeds for rent are kind of nice for a no-car recovery day. The Nemira restaurants are nothing to write about, Aga and Zvidzan maybe being exceptions.
