Lovely House in Welwyn with Garden and Off road parking

Very nice house, with spacious rooms. Washing machine and nice garden available, including a small grill. Easy to find and very easy to check-in. We had a small issue with locking the front door and the owner came to us to fix it in matter of minutes. Very nice experience.

There were only 4 forks and we were 5 people. But we managed. :)

We really liked the location, the size of the house, having off street parking, being able to cook our own meals, having plenty of TV channels and do our laundry. We didn't have children with us, but the toys offered were in good condition and kids would enjoy playing with them. Welwyn Garden City is a nice place to visit, we visit regularly to spend time with family.

This could be an excellent property however it really needs some maintenance and improved communication to bring it up to the standards we usually find ( we use self catering accommodation very regularly, newly retired and holidaying very often) We got in touch about the window, but nothing else because there had been no response. •The bedroom window mechanism didn't lock, so we had to use the handle to keep it closed. •The cleaning in the kitchen hadn't been done very well, things had run down doors and been left, the bottom of pan drawers needed a simple clean, the dishes and glasses didn't look like they'd been washed well, so I did them all on the first day. •Windows and cobwebs need cleaned. This is cheap and easy to do, I wouldn't expect the flooring to be replaced for the cosmetic damage it has, but it would suggest that this property is most definitely suitable for dogs, which isn't currently offered. •The mattresses in the twin room are very soft and unsupportive, the double bed one is fine. •The hot water heater in the downstairs loo doesn't work because the water is shut off. We didn't want to turn it on. •The plug assembly in the bathroom sink needs reassembled or replaced. •The living room curtains are about half a metre too long and would look much smarter if taken up to length. I am sorry to write such a list, but it really would be good to see the house brought up to standard with a few cheap changes, and would then be happy to return. The communication regarding entry still hadn't arrived the evening before we were due to arrive, we were then informed that instructions would be sent at noon on the day of arrival. No guest information book, no pictures of what to expect in the property. It's also free to do this better. It's important to note there's nothing seriously wrong here, it just needs tlc.

Nice sized bedrooms - kitchen was well equipped - lovely bathroom with an additional down stairs toilet (needed when you have teenage daughters) - lovely sized back garden which is ideal when the suns shinning .

Only downside was the lack of curtains in the bedrooms so when the sun comes up so are you .

All was idealistic.

Property was clean and adequate, good sized rooms, beds good.

When we arrived the WiFi and TV weren’t working. I found that a circuit switch had been tripped so put it back on and that solved the problem. Owners should check what may have caused this. Then the central heating didn’t work. The batteries in the thermostat needed replaced and I found some near the circuit board. Perhaps need to check these sort of things regularly, didn’t expect to have to fix such problems.

We loved staying in this property - we are a family of 4 with 2 little ones and the place was perfect. There is a large garden, the host provided toys for the kids, the kitchen was fully kitted out, bathroom amazing and all the bedding was fresh. We felt very at home. The host was also great at communicating- she also left a folder of helpful info including local restaurant menus. Just very thoughtful and everything even small things taken care of.

There isn't a dishwasher but the kitchen sink is so huge it wasn't a massive inconvenience. Other than that it was perfect.
