About this cabin rental

The cabin is bright, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated. Everything you need is there, including full cooking and dining ware, bath towels and shampoo/soap, and freshly made beds with comfy pillows, sheets, and comforters. You will love the outdoor propane grill and fire ring in a peaceful, private setting surrounded by forest views. All within easy reach of the best that Cook Forest has to offer!

Please note that access to the upstairs bedroom requires climbing a spiral staircase (see pictures).
The space
The cabin has a water filtration system installed, and tap water is safe and fully potable. Hot water is reliable and in good supply.

Internet and wi-fi is available throughout the cabin and the immediate surroundings outside. (This is a Verizon dial-up Internet and depending on the number of people on the line it can be spotty.) Streaming entertainment options (Netflix, etc.) can be accessed on the living room TV.

Guests are welcome to make full use of the cabin's facilities, but are requested to please clean any dishes, cookware, and cooking surfaces after use. Firewood is provided near the fire ring, and can be replenished upon request for longer stays.
Guest access
Guests have private, exclusive use of the entire cabin and its surrounding property, including the backyard fire pit.
Other things to note
Guests will self-check in by retrieving keys from a lock box.

Very well appointed and appreciated all the extra touches (linens and towels, basic necessities like toothpaste, coffee creamer in the frig, toilet paper, etc.). The cabin was very clean and we appreciated that. WiFi was strong. Location was close and convenient to all the surrounding activities.

Everything was excellent, we stayed in February, road up a little icy. Deer one morning, family of turkeys the next walking through back yard. Already looking to book here again. Beautiful property, hosts had the place set up perfect and were attentive and quick to respond to any questions.

Location is great .. close to hiking trails and activities. Amenities were good ... having firewood was nice for evening campfires. Could use a good cleaning. When I arrived I had to vacuum the dead large black flies off the floor and kill several. During the day we notice several large black flies flying around the upper level, and at night the upper level could hear a buzzing in the walls. Also went around the house and cleaned cob webs. The top blankets had a musty smell. Internet was worthless for watching kids movies at night, plus there was no remote for the TV, only the DVD player. First time using VRBO, so maybe this is the way it works, but not happy that after searching for a place to stay and selecting this one, there was a approximately $200 add-on fee in addition to the listed price ... I took it only because I was not able to find another place to accommodate all of us. Given the above, I would not stay here again and would not recommend this place.

We had a great weekend at this house. The place was great, well stocked. The owner was very good about checking in to see if we needed anything. I would certainly use this house again.

This cabin was PERFECT! It was clean cozy and full of cute decorations. There were plenty of beds which were all clean and comfortable. There were more than enough towels and wash cloths. The host thought of EVERYTHING - from a hair dryer, to foil, bathroom toiletries...the list goes on and on. Check in and out was very easy and the host was very hospitable. We hope to stay in the same cabin next time we travel to Cook Forest.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin. The kids were in awe and their reactions on walking inside were priceless. This location is beautiful inside and out. I loved walking out in the early morning right into pine trees and birdsong. My son wanted to see the old growth forest for his 17th birthday and staying here was more than he could have hoped for! We are so grateful to our hosts for sharing their beautiful property with us.

The property was great. Our 4 grandkids (3 to 9) loved the spiral staircase up to the large 5 bed loft bedroom. There was plenty of room for the kids and 4 adults. Everything we needed for the stay was provided. Outside, the fire ring was great with plenty of dried firewood. The location was very quiet and close to restaurants and a store. Will gladly come back to this cabin.

Our stay couldn’t have worked out better. The Cabin was perfect. It had everything we needed including relaxation. The location was amazing. The woods we’re so thick that the silence was almost loud. And in the morning the deer would come right up almost to the porch. Inside the place had everything we could need. And the furniture was very comfortable. Everything was fantastic.

We go to Cook Forest each year for a weekend getaway. This property is well kept and privately tucked away within a convenient distance to many activities. The neighbors were kind. The home housed our family and visitors for one day of activities on Saturday very comfortably. The hosts are thorough and were in touch with instructions and to check in- I just was honestly pretty busy and unable to respond. But they were very accessible if needed and provided everything necessary for a few nights’ stay!

Good distance between neighbors, Plenty of clean towels, unlike most places there was plenty of firewood provided. Nice grill, great porch, plenty of chairs around the campfire.
