A casa di Clara

This apartment was one of our favourite stays in Italy! Prato is a beautiful area to stay in - very close to all major attractions (impressive given how big Rome is!) but also slightly more peaceful and calmer and felt more local. The apartment itself was great too - the owner was very friendly and helpful, and we appreciated her meeting us and spending time showing us around the apartment. The apartment was quiet and had everything we needed it, including a washing machine, air conditioning, and two rooms to sleep in (useful as I was travelling with my mum).

Le point fort de cet appartement est son emplacement. Il est situé dans un quartier très résidentiel, calme et sécuritaire. A proximité du métro, même si tout peut quasiment se faire à pied. Beaucoup de commerces à proximité (supermarchés) et de restaurants dont Miva tout juste à côté (Via Ezio).

L'appartement est assez vieux et aurait besoin d'être modernisé, particulièrement le coin cuisine (espace extrêmement restreint pour cuisiner) equipements sommaires; pas de micro-ondes, de lave-vaisselle, de grille-pain, cafetière minuscule contrairement à la machine à café annoncée. Les chaises sont très inconfortables. Il n'y a pas de stores ou de rideaux occultants aux fenêtres, ce qui est gênant surtout pour la chambre. Il manque des crochets pour les serviettes dans la salle de bain. Bien que le quartier soit très calme, pendant notre séjour, on a entendu plusieurs fois les chiens de résidents de l'immeuble aboyer, des voisins parler très fort dans le corridor et même dans leur appartement, puisqu'ils avaient laissé leur porte ouverte... Nous avons aussi été très surpris que la propriétaire n'ait pas été en mesure de nous expliquer le fonctionnement du four et nous laisse des directives, uniquement en italien. Encore plus, lorsqu'on a constaté que la télécommande de la climatisation n'était pas dans l'appartement et que la propriétaire s'est étonnée de notre demande du fait que selon elle la climatisation n'était jamais nécessaire en mai (alors qu'on annoncait des températures de 30 degrés et plus... Bref, nous considérons pour notre part, qu'hormis son emplacement, la cote attribuée à cet appartement ne reflète pas la réalité.

Ein tolles Apartment! Liebevoll eingerichtet, sauber und voll ausgestattet mit allem was man brauchen könnte. Barbara war eine super Gastgeberin, die uns noch viele Empfehlungen für die Stadt gegeben hat. Die Lage ist ein perfekter Ausgangspunkt für alle Unternehmungen in Rom.

Great location, 35 min walk to center and 20 min walk to Vatican, nice caffee shops,restaurants, really beautiful place, apartment is clean and quite good for two, the owner is very kind and nice; she gave us good recommendations on eating places- they are amazing. The best pizza restaurant ( Malaterra) in 5 min walk distance- strongly recommended. There is also nice place for bfast in 5 min from apartment- Gianfornaio. Be selective with restaurants- eg Osteria pasta restaurant ( always busy and has long waiting line) - i think it is overrated, we didnt like it. Bookings to museums/ Vatican should be done way in advance to avoid overpricing.

Very small for family with child; shower is extremely small and is not proper one, with curtain instead of door, so need to be careful not to water whole bathroom; bedding is not comfortable- pillow are very old and cheap version of ikea pillows; duvets dont have proper covers instead bedsheets are used to cover duvets - quite weird from hygiene perspective as i don’t believe duvets are washed / disinfected after each guests, no spare bedding ( bedsheets, pillow case) - quite essential when you stay more than 3 days; kitchen is tiny - no toaster, no microwave, no even cutting board, no kitchen towels or kitchen cloths, no dishwasher; no safe or lockers in apartment. Also mind that to get to apartment you have to take stairs from elevator so it is not convenient for guests with luggage or for ones with some physical limitations.
