South Beach Villa

The location is absolutely beautiful. We were greeted on arrival with milk, bread and jam which was a lovely touch. We spent most of our time sat on the wonderful balcony that overlooked the beach. The fact it’s an upside down house, and the kitchen and living area are upstairs, meant we could all enjoy the views for every meal time. The house was clean and tidy and had all the amenities we needed, lots of cooking utensils, crockery, and so many mugs and glasses! The garden is spacious and neat, enough room for the dogs to run around and for the children to play with a ball. I was really pleased with how dog friendly the home was. You are by a peaceful part of the beach, which was perfect for dog walks. A 15 minute walk takes you to the centre of town where it’s busy and bustling. You have the park and ride bus that comes to and through right next to the villa, so if you don’t want to walk into the centre, you can easily take the bus. I think it’s £3 for an adult return ticket if you haven’t parked in their car park. We really did enjoy the opportunity for the whole family to be together in this beautiful house and would recommend. The agent that runs the house on behalf of the owners were always on hand to chat to.

There were a couple issues that had to be dealt with, a leak and power cuts. The fact that an agency runs the house, means you’re always talking to a middle man and then they have to go and check with their client. This adds time, but I do understand why. The upstairs flooring could do with sound proofing. You can hear every single footstep, no matter how light. As it’s an upside down house, and the bedrooms are downstairs, there is no chance for a peaceful early night as you can hear all the movement with the floorboards creaking with every step.
