Sigiri Nisala Resort

This has been our favourite place to stay so far in Sri Lanka. The property facilities are great, but the family who own and run it are really special. Madara cooked the most amazing food for us - huge home cooked breakfasts, and an amazing dinner one night also. Each day she and her husband Buddhika went above and beyond to provide us with new fruits to try from their garden (or they went and bought them), and Buddihka provided us driving services at dawn twice, plus drove us all the way to Nilaveli to our next hotel. Their son was also very kind and caring to us. Each time we wanted to use the pool, they cleaned it thoroughly, and they suggested excellent restaurants we could walk to for dinner. Concerned for our safety they warned us about the risk of elephants on our return and suggested we get tuktuks home rather than walk back even though it was very close. They never upsold us, and even checked prices with another driver before quoting us very fair fares. When the power went out briefly they immediately brought out battery lights for us. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and great appreciate their care and service in providing us with great experiences.

The hospitality was great. Really welcoming people and great breakfast.

All went well, even we arrived at night still the property owner open the pool lights and clean the water for insects.

Hosts were very welcoming. Went out of their way to accommodate us, even getting up early to take us to lion rock.

It feels like you are a part of the family! An amazing and welcoming hosts, very comfortable stay with everything you need, a great pool for the kids and peace and quiet that are very appreciated. The location is 10 min drive from the town Sigiri, but it is very easy to get there with a tuk tuk.
