We stayed at Villa Amalia for 9 days. The villa itself has great potential and the host was generally very responsive, quick to answer our WhatsApp messages, and tried his best to send help initially. However, our holiday was unfortunately disrupted by several persistent technical and infrastructure issues. Location is excellent...
The Issues: Plumbing & Smells: For the first 3–4 days, the main sewer line was severely clogged. Every time someone used the toilets or indoor shower, wastewater with a bad smell backed up out of the outdoor shower. The host acted quickly and sent plumbers and a septic company to dig up the main shaft on the 4th day. Unfortunately, the fix wasn't permanent, and the exact same sewage issue returned 2–3 days later. We reported the recurring problem to the host, but unfortunately, we didn't receive a reply or further solution before our departure. Pests: Likely connected to the sewage and outdoor drainage issues, we had to eliminate 2 large cockroaches inside the house and spotted a rat on the outdoor patio canopy. Water Pressure: In the evenings, there was zero water pressure (making it impossible to shower or flush toilets) because the garden was being watered. The host promptly coordinated with the gardener to shift the timer to midnight, which solved the problem. Appliances & Wi-Fi: The dishwasher was broken upon arrival but replaced after 3 days. The upper-floor A/C fuse was down and the remote locked, which we resolved ourselves. On day 6, the Wi-Fi modem battery died; it was replaced the next evening, though the connection remained unstable. Conclusion: We appreciate the host’s responsiveness and effort during the first few days to solve the issues as they arose. However, spending a 9-day family holiday managing recurring plumbing failures, pests, and low water pressure was very frustrating. With better preventative maintenance and a permanent fix for the plumbing, this could be a wonderful place to stay.

We had a great stay as a family of five. The house is large, with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, and everything was clean and well prepared. We were welcomed with some nice gifts, which was a lovely touch. The villa had everything we needed for our stay, including a washing machine, which was very helpful as we travel light with children. The beach is just a short walk from the garden, and you can see the sea from the top floor. The villa has a beautiful, very large and well-kept garden, safe for children, and the covered terrace is outstanding. There is plenty of parking space, including covered parking. We also appreciated the sports equipment, chess, and a few toys for the children. The keys were in a locker, which made check-in easy, and the host responded quickly whenever we had questions. Overall, it was a very good choice and a perfect stay for a family vacation.
Nothing critical. The villa is great and spacious, but the overall experience could be improved even more with a few small renovations and minor fixes. Some small maintenance work, such as tightening things here and there or refreshing the paint in a few places, would make the stay feel even better.

The location is quite far from places but if your just planning on staying at the villa to relax by the beach it’s great otherwise i would recommend renting a car to get around
