We stayed at this VRBO property, advertised as “luxury” and “family-friendly.” While visually stunning with an initially welcoming host, Ken, a serious safety incident and maintenance issues marred our stay. Our 9-year-old daughter was unpacking into a dresser’s top drawer when it tipped, breaking a 43-inch TCL Roku TV. My wife was supervising, but the dresser, with no anti-tip strap, was unstable due to its spindle legs and the TV’s weight. This is a critical oversight for a child-friendly listing, as tip-overs are a known hazard per the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.We urged the host to add safety straps, but Ken dismissed our concerns, claiming the dresser was sturdy and alleging our daughter was unsupervised, which was false. They also claimed our kids played on a gas meter and damaged a closet, but provided no evidence. They demanded 250 for the TV, which we disputed via VRBO, as a comparable model costs 150 at Walmart. Other issues included a damaged door, faulty lock, leaking dishwasher, unlevel oven, and loose towel hooks, undermining the “luxury” label.The property’s beauty and hospitality were overshadowed by safety and maintenance lapses. We recommend anti-tip straps, repairs, and fair pricing. Families should be cautious, as the space isn’t truly child-friendly or luxurious yet. We hope our feedback prompts improvements.
