🕰️ A JOURNEY THROUGH HISTORY This 18th-century house is uniquely built into the medieval defensive wall from the year 1500, listed as a Historical Monument. One side features the massive 16th-century stones, while the other showcases a classic half-timbered Alsatian facade.
💎 AUTHENTIC REFINEMENT Restored with healthy, eco-friendly materials (lime, natural wood) to create a sophisticated retreat: ✨ LOCAL CRAFTS : Authentic hand-painted furniture and traditional Alsatian Kelsch fabrics. 🍷 THE "STUB" : An entire floor dedicated to the living space, lounge, and open kitchen.
🛌 COMFORT & PRIVACY (IDEAL FOR 2 COUPLES) The house offers two private suites: ✅ UPPER SUITE: Romantic attic room, King Size bed (180x200), and private bathroom. ✅ LOWER SUITE: Elegant ground floor room, Queen Size bed (160x200), and private bathroom.
🍳 KITCHEN & DINING Fully equipped kitchen for complete independence. The village's excellent restaurants are just a few steps away.
Our holiday lodgings in Riquewihr are located in 2 different places in the old historic village.
1/ Charming and chic lodgings of the Rempart of the Year 1291.
They form a set of 6 exceptional lodgings around a small garden: 4 of them are located in an old Renaissance house built in the year 1580 on the first rampart of Riquewihr erected in 1291. The property faces the famous vineyard the Schoenenbourg which dominates the village; 2 other apartments complete the series in an adjacent house dating from the 17th century.
All these lodgings have been designed to meet the official 5-star standards for the furnished tourist apartments category, as set out by the Ministry of Tourism.
A small garden with a medieval design gives an exquisite touch of refinement to this original ensemble.
2/ The lodgings of the Rempart from the year 1500
A set of 3 romantic, elegant and comfortable lodgings, decorated in the purest Alsatian tradition. These exceptional lodgings are located on the second belt of ramparts of Riquewihr, completed in the year 1500.
The walls on the west side of our gîtes are made of the rampart itself. The facades on the east side have the appearance of typical Alsatian half-timbered houses. They are quietly located.
The Dove's Nest***** house is located here.

Well equipped property in the village. While we did not cook, the kitchen would be fine for simple meals. The apartment has good linens and some nice welcoming touches. Note—this property is not suitable for people with mobility issues (ancient, uneven, but charming stairs).Highly recommend.

Dealing with the owners was a breeze, flawless communication and very helpful throughout.
If you are considering staying here (which you should), then I strongly recommend it.
Riquewihr is a very quaint is a beautiful town in a a beautiful part of Alsace.
It is like stepping into a Brother Grimms fairy-tale.
