About this house rental
Wooden features, such as window niches and floors, have been preserved. The building served as the first town hall of the municipality of Fuencaliente, and it still exudes that stately charm today. It is located at the foot of the San Antonio volcano in the tranquil neighborhood of the small village of Los Quemados, situated between the larger towns of Las Indias and Los Canarios, where you’ll find larger supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, and wine shops. In Los Quemados itself—which is quite steeply situated—you’ll find a restaurant: La Puesta del Sol. You’ll need a rental car to get there; you can park on the enclosed property with an automatic garden gate.
Casa Morera:
This traditional 18th-century country house has been carefully restored.

From the wooden balcony of Casa Morera, you have a fantastic view of the sea and the volcanic landscape.
The front garden with its terrace is beautifully overgrown with shade-providing trees and subtropical flowering plants. Here you’ll also find the old cistern, which once served as a well. Casa Morera offers plenty of opportunities to easily enjoy the outdoor space. Another patio terrace is located off to the side of the house and is accessible from the master bedroom—here you can enjoy the first rays of sunshine right after waking up. In front of the house, you’ll find a wooden dining table, a brick barbecue, and a sink.
On the first floor of the house is the cozy living room with a sofa, TV, dining area, and open kitchen, as well as the bathroom and an utility room with a washing machine.
The skillfully restored wooden staircase leads to the first floor, where the two bedrooms are located. From the staircase—where you’ll also find a cozy reading chair with a footstool—you have access to the balcony with ocean views. Both bedrooms are also furnished with high-quality wooden furniture. The entire upper floor is connected by a rustic Canarian wooden ceiling, which means the bedrooms are open to the ceiling and not acoustically separated from one another.
In Fuencaliente, you’ll find secluded beaches or those frequented by locals for swimming, diving, walking, or dining out...
Above Playa Zamorra is a popular fish stand; Playa Las Cabras is a diving spot; and Playa Echentive was named one of the archipelago’s most beautiful beaches by a Canarian magazine. At the southern tip of the island, near the two lighthouses, there’s another small beach. This is also where you’ll find the famous Fuencaliente salt flats, where precious sea salt is harvested by hand. The themed restaurant El Jardín de La Sal offers excellent Atlantic cuisine and regional wines there.
Furthermore, the sparsely populated town of Fuencaliente is an excellent spot for stargazing.
Not far from Casa Morera is the San Antonio Volcano Visitor Center, as well as various wineries that grow their grapes on the fertile lava soil, where you can sample and purchase their unique wines.
You are now at the southern tip of the island; drive eastward, and you’ll reach Mazo and the capital, Santa Cruz de La Palma, passing through the laurel forest of Cubo de La Galga all the way to San Andrés y Sauces. Heading west, take the new road built through the lava of the Tajagoite volcano to Los Llanos de Aridane, El Paso, the Caldera de Taburiente, Puerto de Tazacorte, or into the green northwest with the towns of Tijarafe, Puntagorda, and Garafía.
