Fabulous in every way

Lovely few days hill walking and time with friends

Location - exceptional view of Windermere and the hills . Close to town centre . Really well decorated , clean and kitchen was well fitted out with everything required for cooking . Apartment was warm when we arrived

Stunning stay with perfect views a very cosy retreat

We loved everything about the property it was ideally placed , spotlessly clean and very well equipped We wanted for nothing Julie our host was so helpful throughout our stay and we throughly enjoyed it Julie left us Prosecco , some biscuits, milk and the tea and coffee was plentiful we were very grateful of this as the weather was very cold and snowing when we arrived Dogs are so well catered for there’s dog beds, dog bowls , a dog towel and biscuits , someone in our group was very pleased I wouldn’t hesitate to come back , Julie was the perfect host

Stunning hidden gem in Bowness

Great location, very peaceful with beautiful views. Not right by all the noise and busy but close enough to walk, only 5mins to all the shops, bars, restaurants and lakeside which was perfect for us. Exceptionally equipped and super comfortable throughout our stay!

Unassuming from the outside but absolutely gorgeous inside - the view!!😍 Stunning. Had everything we needed and close to all amenities.

Bin lorry was quite noisy one morning while we were sleeping in, but not a big deal at all 😂

Beautifully presented apartment

Beautifully decorated, interior was lovely and well equipped. Very spacious

Nothing much to say. Only little points that it is walk up a little hill but we managed fine and only 10min walk from town centre and nice walks. The minor point are be nice to have oven glove as tricky to get hot tray out with a tea cloth. Also another clean oven tray would be nice, as only one clean one. Again very small points and was lovely accommodation.

Not just lake view but a great retreat

Lake View Retreat is an excellent and spacious homestay in an uphill location with quiet, ample greenery and views of the lake. The hosts are generous with the amenities, fittings and one could not ask for more. Also very responsive if called or texted. But it is a bit uphill if you're not fit for walking although it is expected most guests would have a car and there is free driveway parking. The secret is a very nearby and short Biskey Howe viewpoint hike for a panoramic vista of Windermere and the Fells..

It is still a two minutes drive down to Bowness for supplies, restaurants, etc.

comfortable enjoyable stay and good value for money

the modern amenities. free bottle of Prosecco and milk for guests/ coffee machine and lots of teas to choose from. lots of board games for guests and this place can accommodate more than 4+ guests if sharing and also using the sofa bed too (if everyone is happy to use the one bathroom). We had a car so parking was useful and we drove up and down for the two days we were there so didn’t experience the uphill walking but yes as other comments mention you need to be able to do a bit of uphill walking to get to the flat from the town center (it isn’t impossible though)

the lake view from the flat was a bit of a stretch but probably because the trees have grown tall but it was still very geeen and lush to look at and you do see small part of the the lake. Also, the internet connection wasn’t super fast so maybe a good idea to get an upgrade on that. everything else was spot on!!!

It’s on a pretty big hill, which does give you the amazing views! Someone with mobility issues might struggle but my friends and I found it nice to have a little walk home in the evening

A good pet friendly base for exploring. Beds need an upgrade.

The location was excellent for exploring. The apartment is spacious, clean and has modern amenities, which makes for a great base. The host clearly goes to a lot of effort to make guests welcome with extras including milk and a bottle of prosecco as well as lots of dog friendly items. Unfortunately, the bed in the main bedroom is extremely uncomfortable and due to the metal frame it squeaks with any slight movement. We stayed for 2 nights and on the 2nd night we slept in the twin beds due to the bed in the main bedroom.

Absolutely loved the lounge overlooking the lake .the kitchen had all the little extras (condiments etc) beds were really comfy!

There’s nothing I didn’t like about the property and definitely would visit again! If I were to take my dogs with me next time I would like to see a side gate to the garden 😊

Lovely house in a lovely area within walking distance to the lake 😊

The property was clean and beautiful and smelt very clean. Julie has thought of everything you would need for a break away. She provided Towels, toilet rolls, hairdryer, even left milk, tea and coffee for our stay. Perfect location. Julie was a lovely host and on hand for any issues we may have.

Even though the property was only a short 7 minute walk into Bowness on windermere, be prepared for the hill, lol!

Perfect Apartment for a Relaxing Short Holiday

Loved everything about this place. The apartment has a view of Lake Windemere and was so unbelievably cosy. It was warm upon arrival so much so that venturing out became the second preference to relaxing indoors. Everything was perfect: netflix on the TV, a coffee machine and the view of the lake.

The key box was a bit fiddly but the host was helpful and explained how to get in.

We had a lovely stay, property is perfect for a short holiday. Just shame about the location.

Very clean and comfy modern property. Liked the idea that coffee, tea, washing products, toilet paper etc were included.

I knew there was a steep hill, but did not realise it was going to be so steep!! Not too good for older folk. This was the only thing I didn’t like about the property.
