Come visit lovely Douglas, MI while staying in this charming family-friendly cottage. It's just a short walk up the road to Lake Michigan where there is public beach access, paths and beautiful views.

The Space:
This three bedroom hideaway includes a cozy living room with adjacent furnished three season porch that overlooks the backyard surrounded by mature trees. Has a lovely open concept kitchen / dining / living room. The bedroom configuration allows for flexibility in your sleeping arrangements, with dual twins in two of the bedrooms that can be pushed together to create additional plush king beds, or kept apart to allow for more people to enjoy this peaceful home away from home. The en suite primary bedroom boasts a king bed with lovely view through its own sliding doors which lead to an upstairs private patio area. For your comfort, all of the bedrooms and the 3-season porch are equipped with both AC and heat, making the home enjoyable year-round. During the summer you can spend your time around the outdoor fireplace sharing stories or just reveling in rustic outdoors.
With bike and walking paths nearby, and just a quick jaunt on foot to Lake Michigan (home does not sit directly on Lake Michigan) this cottage has everything you'll need. Take a leisurely walk towards Douglas Beach Park and stop at the well-known Douglas Root Beer Barrel and enjoy root beer on tap and specialty hot dogs.

We loved the house. The back sunroom is the best! We saw so many deer wandering in the creek below and in the woods. It was incredibly relaxing. The house is roughly a 5 min walk to the beach and 5-7 mins to the root barrel. The location is perfect for beach or walking into town.

Very clean and well stocked house in Douglas that was a close walk to the beach. Convenient location to restaurants in Douglas as well as Saugatuck. Great get away!

Couples weekend away- the location of the house is perfect! A short walk to the beach to see the sunset is a must! We took advantage of the fire pit every night. The kitchen is fully stocked. The only downside is the 3rd bedroom didn't have A/C.
The check in and check out process was simple and seamless. Communication was perfect.

My husband, friends and I had a wonderful stay at the Whittier cottage. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need for cooking. The upstairs balcony area was great for having drinks and playing board games. We made great use of the bonfire pit each night of our stay. And the walk to the beach is only 5 minutes. Plus, the local A&W root beer and hot dog stand was super cute and delicious! Would definitely stay again
