Grand Hotel Villa Politi

Breakfast was very nice, especially the pastries. The bathroom was massive. The public areas were so grand and historic, and the gardens were like a park. Service was very friendly, especially in the restaurant and from the nice night manager who greeted us on our arrival in the small hours of the morning. The pool was a decent sized infinity pool with plenty of beds though the bar area was shut (in October).

The hotel is a decent length walk from the old town, so maybe not for the less mobile guests, though it was a direct route and a picturesque walk.

The shower itself can get upgraded to more quality dush with no clogging heads , and the door of shower. Without car not the most convenient. But we loved it Overall worth the value and good experience

This is a very nice, grand old hotel, which is a little faded and in need of investment. The pool area is very new, and lovely. Our room was comfortable, and we had a bath, which seems to be rare in Sicily. It has a big, free parking area, also something of a rarity.

It's a really long walk to the main town, and Ortigia. Downhill there, and uphill back. There aren't any real options to walking. Parking in the town looks difficult, and no obvious bus service. A hotel shuttle would really help. Breakfast is hit and miss. Popular items like eggs, were gold dust. The dining room is enormous.

Lovely pool, great staff, especially the gentleman who runs the breakfast.

The building Is grand but needs some tlc we had a leak in the ceiling of our room what ended up coming through the light. It was fixed very quickly when reported, but then within days was leaking again. The location had a lot of mould so it obviously was a long standing leak. It is the location of a number of coach trips.... So breakfast was always either rammed or there was nothing left. No complimentary water in the room and the tap water is not drinkable, so if you arrive late in the evening as we did you need to use the mini bar.
