A heavenly location in a quiet area of the Tuscan hills. It felt like we were visiting a wealthy estate from a few hundred years ago. Our room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We really hated to leave.

The pool was nice and large, though it would have been nicer if it was heated. Perhaps in the summer it's not needed, but in late September it was. The weather was perfect for laying out, but the water was too cold.

The property is very peaceful and relaxed. The staff are wonderful and the restaurant and food are outstanding.

The rooms are not of the highest standard but provide a very relaxed form of accommodation for a very fair price.

Location of this hotel was really great for day trips to lovely little Tuscan villages, Siena, San Gimignano and Monteriggioni all within 20/30 minutes drive. Also many wineries! The restaurant was lovely on the property, also great pizzeria at the bottom of the hill. Nice outside spaces to enjoy and pool was great.

We found the family suite a little tight, kids were on a pullout sofa, only small fridge and no countertop space/sink. Typical of European family suites I think, but we made it work!

The location is truly charming - located on a hill and surrounded by olive trees, it offers beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside and a peaceful setting away from the crowds. The castel itself is an impressive structure with lovely grounds and expansive outdoor areas and it also serves as a good base for exploring nearby attractions. The staff were generally friendly and welcoming.

Unfortunately, the room we were given (Double Room) were not even close to the photos advertised on Booking.com and similar platforms. We were assigned an attic room with very narrow stairs that were difficult to navigate. I have uploaded photos of the staircase to provide an accurate view. Proactively addressing a possible response: the issue is not whether we could have requested another room, but rather that all rooms should meet a minimum standard of comfort, especially in a 4-star establishment. Housekeeping was inconsistent: for instance, the toilet paper was not replenished during our stay, and we nearly ran out by the third day. Breakfast, though included in the rate, was underwhelming and prepared on a tight budget. Items such as pancakes and scrambled eggs were not replenished once they ran out, which may be acceptable for a short stay, but is disappointing nonetheless. Lastly, the pool was visibly unclean, with dead insects floating on the surface despite the presence of a cleaning device at the bottom. This discouraged us from using it, which was a shame as we had looked forward to enjoying the pool area.
