Blissful comfort in a scenic Cumbrian village

The cottage is beautiful The kitchen was fully equipped and we loved sitting round the island grazing and having a wine The log burner in the lounge made it really snug The beds are so comfy and the en suite bathrooms were a wonderful addition Location wise it’s so close the M6 but right in the heart of a rural village. We were close to the lakes and Carlisle. It was perfect for our visit. We would definitely return

The only slight improvement would be a larger comfier couch in the lounge, as the three of us (husband, wife and child) couldn’t fit on it all together to watch a movie, but otherwise everything was perfect!

Perfect place to stay for easy access to Lakes

Beautiful cottage full of character in a lovely quiet village close to Penrith and the wonders of the Lake District. Clean and tastefully furnished.

Just needs some instructions for the hob. A hook or towel rail in downstairs ensuite would be useful.

Great for a weekend

Lovely location, easy to find with good parking places. Beautiful decorated and maintained. Great to have a secure garden to let the dogs out in. Bedrooms were super comfortable. Nice to have information about what to do around the area and the basket with treats in were a great touch. Had more things than we expected like hair straighteners. We had a great stay

Tiny little things - nothing to light the fire with unless you had a lighter and no kindling to help keep it lit. Thought the dog fee was slightly steep Couldn’t get the lights to work in the downstairs bedroom or bathroom, just used the lamps instead Towels were quite small Settee wasn’t comfortable

Spotlessly clean well kitted property, quiet location, with parking.

I liked the good communication from the owners before and during my visit, although we did not meet in person. The property was spotless and very tastefully kitted out. Parking right outside and the 2 bedrooms each had their own lovely bathrooms. Not far from the main road routes but quiet. Next to a pub with Michelin star food. The property has a big double oven, dishwasher, all the cleaning products you need and a central kitchen island with induction hob. There is a private patio outside. A really lovely place with a huge bed. Great sleep after lots of walking, we self catered with picnics.

Nothing.... but I would add a few microwave suitable bowls, a couple of casserole dishes, small baking tin, a mixing bowl, whisk and sieve, as there is great local produce around if you enjoy cooking, and keeping costs down.

Lovely property ideal for our weekend.

Lovely property. Just what we needed for the weekend. Ideal location for the wedding we were attending.

Although there was a picnic basket with information about the area & house a welcome book would have been helpful with instructions for cooker & hob etc. Also not so easy to find in the dark. The light over the house sign was not working. Also the house next door is called Brow Top which was a little misleading. The neighbour was very helpful & showed us where to go.

There was no instructions on how to use the cooker. There no details on what to do with the rubbish no dust bins or recycling containers.

My daughter, adult granddaughter and myself could very easily live there it was a wonderful place t.

As soon as we realised we needed to press the door lock to illuminate the numbers we were fine.
