A fantastic house to stay in. Felt like a home away from home. Jim introduced himself and couldn't have been more accommodating and welcoming. He made sure to say goodbye and made a lovely gesture to our child. Will definitely return/recommend.

Comfortable 12 hour short stay

Spacious, clean, comfortable, well equipped. Travellers tip - would recommend arriving during the day; we checked in at 11pm and it was thick darkness countryside - no light anywhere and we could barley see anything with our little torch on our phones.

What a pleasant surprise to stay at such a lovely, well furnished, manor guesthouse. Warm welcome, spacious rooms, large atrium, comfortable lounge with leather couches, beautiful dining room, easy to use kitchen with bread, cereal, fruit, and milk for breakfast. Highly recommend.

A peaceful , clean escape to a warm welcome in the countryside , without any timekeeping involved ( until your last morn

Both the pros & cons were exactly the same thing - it was quiet , out in the countryside and birds chirping happily in the mornings ! I genuinely believe that staying just a little longer , would have ensured no problems with locating it ! Jim is an absolute gentleman and nothing is too much bother for him ! I’d advise that you won’t be merely an anonymous card key holder … You are warmly greeted here , with friendly advice of using the kitchen and TV lounge as and when you please … There is a warmth and true homeliness here , and now that I am more relaxed regarding the set up , I will definitely be back on my own….. to truly relax !

I suppose , if I were nitpicking , I would enjoy even a small TV in my bedroom… Simply for when I don’t care to read any longer , but yet , for when I have switched off to the point of utter laziness !!! Along with this line , I would dearly love it , if any of the restaurants advertising ‘delivery’ - would actually deliver out a few miles from Pontzpass , to the accommodation . This of course , is in no way a mark against Ridge Wood House …. but rather , my plain exasperation at the advertising of the eating establishments !

I loved the location of the guest house. It was quiet, secluded and perfect. Steven, the owner couldn't do more to make us welcome and feel at home. A perfect base to explore both North and South if Ireland Highly recommend this place

I was slightly nervous about booking this place when I saw it had no ratings yet. But apparently we were the first ever guests to stay there. We needn’t have worried, this is an absolute jem of a place and I’m confident we’re the first of many who will rate it 10/10. The property itself is beautiful, with comfortable rooms and it was a major bonus for us that it’s pet friendly. But what really makes this place is the host, Jim. He’s one of the nicest, most accommodating people you’ll ever meet. We’ll definitely be returning to this place next time we’re in the area.

Zeer fijne en ruime kamer bij een zeer aangename en hulpvaardige gastheer. We mochten onze picknick en ijsblokken bewaren in de frigo en het diepvriesvak en deze klaarmaken in de ruime gemeenschappelijke keuken. De gastheer reed ons voor tot in het dorpje waar we gingen avondeten. 2 ruime gemeenschappelijke badkamers.
