Cardiff's Cosy Cottage Corner

The stay at Nottage house excelled my expectations in magnitudes unappreciated at the moment. But reflecting on it, there was all so much to unpack. To begin with, checking in and accessing was very easy. The link and app was a little awkward at first but once used to it, it worked like a charm. Upon entering the flat, I noted two things. The place had a chic and modern appearance and was spotless to match, and the kindness of the host to leave a bag of snacks and coffee pods. The establishment was well stocked with all the necessary equipment and more. Cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, ironing board and iron. Even a coffee machine! A functioning TV with channels was a nice addition for some light entertainment. Ontop of the many facilities at our disposal, the bedroom was beautiful, well decorated and we were provided fresh bedding and towels. The bathroom was clean, along with provided soaps and body wash. The rules were simple and instructions were laid out plainly on the app. Easy to adjust heating and good lighting too. To top it all off. On my last day I ran into who I presume was the owner who was extremely pleasant and very enthusiastic that we enjoyed our stay. Easy to access, well resourced and comfortable and in a decent location. All for a very reasonable price! Couldn't ask for much else. Will definitely be back again.

Cosy and convenient

Everything you need in a small space but doesn’t feel claustrophobic at all, it’s a 15 minute uber journey to the centre and even got a few goodies when we arrived!

The apartment was beautifully refurbished, spotlessly clean, modern, and spacious. Loved the fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher, oven, and coffee machine), comfortable seating area with streaming TV, free parking, and fast WiFi.

Everything was excellent for a short stay—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Nothing stood out as a negative; it exceeded expectations for a premier apartment in the Cardiff Outskirts area.

Nice property. Very good location. Walking distance to centre, about 20 minutes. Bus stop right outside the house. Good size comfortable beds. Sofabed also comfortable. 3 bedrooms all en-suite and extra wc on 1st floor. Attentive customer service

Just what we wanted.

The neighbourhood. It was a bit rough looking. Fortunately, my family are all adults, anyone with a younger family should be advised of the location in advance.

Decent, needs some work

I appreciated the decor and the cleanliness of the rooms when we arrived. The check in process was good and the beds were comfy.

I'm not sure if it's because of the location but the top rooms smelled like sewage or a worn public bathroom throughout. It wasn't just one room but both rooms upstairs. Even after we bought air fresheners for the rooms. It was worse at night and hard to try to sleep through. Also the top rooms do get hot and the shutters didn't close so the heat came in hard. Mix the heat with the smell and it's pretty bad.

I didn't like anything

The photos are nothing like the apartment advertised. The apartment I stayed in was tired with wallpaper peeling off the walls, paint work chipped. One cup in the cupboard even though there were 3 people booked. The sofa bed is old with a crisp packet underneath it. The worst thing of all is the living room smelt of smoke. The place was Grimm! The area is rough as hell. I complained to the management who said they would get back to me. They never did. When I informed them that I would be checking out the next morning they said they would only refund £60 of the 289 I had paid. Day light robbery

Good location,has everything you need but it wasn’t perfect for the price we paid

It had all the facilities that you needed,check in and check out was easy. The location was close to where we were staying and the staff did reply prompt to the mix up and it seemed to be a glitch in the system.

We had been given the incorrect apartment to what the photos had shown so we ended up in a much smaller apartment for the same price. The area is pretty rough so do your research,it was safe in the end but I was slightly concerned checking in and parking in the area. The walls are paper thin so it’s no good if you want a peaceful stay our neighbours were so noisy. It did need a good clean before we used it so we bought some cleaning products and gave it a good scrub.

Two of the bathroom is not working properly(toilet commode). One of the windows lock broken I informed but they are taking very light. Please be careful there is small rat in the kitchen.

Highly recommend! Great value for money

Facilities were great, everything we needed was available for a self catering get away. The host was easy to contact for queries. Very good value for money. Location was great, on a bus route and close enough to the city centre for ease of travel. Easy check in and out.

The only thing we weren't entirely happy about was the cleanliness, while the place was neat, we felt it could've done with a slight bit more of a deep clean prior to our arrival which we did bring to the hosts attention.

A pleasant 10 day stay...

A lovely modern apartment with security. Even though its located on a busy road it was actually very peaceful and quiet in the apartment. The host was very accommodating and the apartment had everything that was needed.

The only thing it lacked was a shaver plug which I had needed for my electric toothbrush and there was no parking at the apartment....but having said that, that was mentioned in the description and parking was found in other nearby streets.

The property was nice and good location

We had arrived and went into our room and there was outher people in our room we then had to stand around for an hour worried we had no we’re to stay however we did eventually get put into another room at the same accommodation but I was not happy at all

Lamentable

La casa está entre una casa abandonada y otra llena de basura, en la propia casa hay bastante basura a la entrada. La tercera mañana encontramos un ratón muerto en el salón al despertarnos, entendemos que propiciado por esa falta de higiene de los edificios. La planta baja cuando entramos olía a comida y la habitación a falta de ventilacion. La segunda mañana nos quedamos sin electricidad porque según nos dijeron el método que tienen es de prepago y se había acabado, increíble tener ese método en una casa de alquiler turístico, lo resolvieron en hora y cuarto pero no nos dio tiempo para ducharnos y desayunar ya que teníamos un evento al que llegábamos tarde. Luego hay otros detalles adicionales de falta de mantenimiento como el suelo de la cocina, velux que no cierran, ventanas que abren y cierran con dificultad...
