About this apartment rental
Nestled between Louisville's most vibrant neighborhoods of Downtown & NuLu, Casa Omara is chock full of delightful surprises & thoughtful touches. Named after one of Cuba's most prominent musicians, Omara Portuondo, our home is crafted to play host to life's celebrations and weekend getaways.
Once you enter our front door, you'll be in the boxing bedroom with its own private bath. From there, you'll pass the laundry room, full bath, kitchen/living area & into the bluegrass bedroom. You'll then make your way downstairs, where you'll enter Omara's lounge with a 1/2 bath and access to the patio on the same level as well as the staircase whisking you into Hemingway's Hideaway. We've provided King beds for guests in all 3 bedrooms.
Whether you're looking to gather with friends in the courtyard for a sip & salud!, get nostalgic in a round of Pacman or rest up after hitting the bourbon trail, you'll find the comforts of home at your fingertips. We had so much fun curating this vibrant space and hope you love it as much as we do!
Whether you prefer to walk, scooter, drive or Uber, the only hard part is picking which distillery tour, top restaurant or activity to venture to next. If you're going the vehicle route, there's 1 garage spot available to our guests two doors down. For additional vehicles, there are multiple free & pay-to-park options in front of the building & along adjacent blocks. One of our favorite features of the block is being able to smell the bourbon batches in action at Angel's Envy next door! Be sure to check out our digital guidebook for our favorite places we frequent.

Casa Omara was amazing, and Kyle and Kenzie were a dream to work with. The place was immaculate. The beds were really comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could ever have needed. The appliances were new and in perfect working order. Having a washer and dryer was great as we played golf in the rain and came home soaking wet. Kyle and Kenzie had fresh local coffee and creamers for us to use. The bathrooms were well appointed with lots of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, lots of towels, and hair dryers. The decor was playful and well executed using a Louisville theme. There was the Muhammad Ali bedroom, the Derby bedroom, and the Hemingway bedroom, each with unique artwork. Each bedroom had a great TV. There was a basement hideaway with a Ms. Pacman machine! The kitchen/living room was done in woods evoking barrels used to distill bourbon. If I’m back in Louisville I’d definitely stay there again. Finally, Kyle and Kenzie were highly responsive to our needs. They gave us great restaurant recommendations and valuable tour ideas. They answered all of our questions promptly. When we decided to stay and extra day, and there was a glitch with VRBO, they took the initiative to fix it for us. I’d give them and Casa Omara a 6 out of five stars!!

We loved the place. We and our adult children stayed there for a long weekend to see the sites and this place was perfect. Very nice game room and perfect sleeping arrangements for us. If we do this again we would definitely stay here. The only "complaint" we had (it is small) was that the host did not warn us there was a marathon two blocks away and we were awakened at 4:30am to blow horns and music while they set up. If we knew this we would have prepared by going to bed earlier.

We had an amazing stay at this VRBO property! The house was incredibly clean and well-maintained, which made us feel comfortable right away. The location couldn’t have been better—everything we needed was within walking distance. We were able to easily explore local shops, enjoy great food, and even experience the bourbon scene without ever needing to drive.This was the perfect spot for our family getaway during the Kentucky Derby. The only time we needed a car was to get to Churchill Downs, which made everything else feel relaxed and convenient.Another huge plus was how easy it was to settle in—Instacart made grocery delivery seamless, and we had our favorite drinks delivered from Total Wine without any hassle. It really allowed us to focus on enjoying our trip.Overall, a fantastic stay in a perfect location. We would absolutely come back again!
