There were mosquitoes and insects in our hotel room. The bathroom was next to the terrace window, but the curtain was torn. The staff’s solution was simply to pull the damaged curtain up. When we requested a room change, we were told the hotel was fully booked. The only alternatives offered were a tent room or a container room. This was the first time I’ve seen a hotel handling a problem by downgrading the room instead of finding a proper solution.
After we politely declined, all we received was a brief “sorry.” I honestly can’t believe this is the level of service from a Japanese hotel. In my past experiences, even when rooms were full, other hotels in Japan would offer compensation such as breakfast coupons.
This is the only hotel in Japan that I would never stay at again.
Btw. the electric kettle in the room was very difficult to use — it worked sometimes but not others.
and the air conditioner is making strange noises.
The toilet light is motion-activated, but it keeps turning off even when someone is inside.
