Olive Cottage is a newly refurbished villa incorporating a delightful combination of modern and traditional stone, surrounded by picturesque olive groves. The double height living room is light, comfortable and inviting and the outside areas are equally well planned for a relaxing stay with a sheltered terrace in front ideal for outdoor dining and a 7m pool to provide respite from the heat. In the evening, enjoy the spectacular Paxos sunset as you quaff your favourite tipple. A 20 minute stroll will take you to Lakka where you can enjoy the selection of tavernas and bars. The return walk is uphill and will take a little longer but if you prefer to drive it's just 5 minutes in the car. From narrow lanes to steep path along the cliffs, the area is perfect to explore by foot and there are many beaches for swimming nearby as well as the picturesque harbours of Loggos and Gaios a short drive away. Parking: There is parking outside the villa Villa Book: The Villa Book is in the villa Driving instructions from Gaios New Port - approximately 20 minutes. Please note that our driving directions are written with kilometre readings; it is therefore essential to reset your trip meter as directed below. The kilometre readings given in these directions are only for guidance and may not be exact. We suggest that before you set off, you acquaint yourselves with the way your trip meter works. In most cars, it is electronic. To reset most of these models, you need to press the button until the reading flashes for some time and then becomes zero. Please take care driving these roads and watch out for local wandering sheep and goats. 1. Leave the “New Port” turning right and continuing straight on up the hill away from Gaios. At approx. 0.8km bear left with the road signposted to Lakka, do not take the right hand turning to Loggos. 2. Follow this uphill road until at approx 2.7km you need to turn right at the TJunction. 3. Follow this road past the football pitch until you reach the Shell petrol station on your right- hand side at approx. 4.6km. Continue straight along this main road, passing through the village of Magazia with its minimarket and fire station on the right at 5.1kms. 4. At approx 6.8 km you will reach a junction with a small shrine on your right; keep straight ahead where the sign says Lakka 2km. 5. At approx 8.7km you will approach Lakka where you will see a blue road sign on the right with white arrows indicating left and right. Go straight on past this sign and then almost immediately take the next left turn where another blue road sign with a white arrow indicates left. (see pic). There is also a red no entry sign here relating to the road straight ahead. 6. Take extra care from now on as the road becomes narrow and windy and takes you upwards. At approx 9.4kms bear sharp left at the T junction. (do NOT take the road to the Lighthouse that bears off to the right here.) 7. At approx 9.6km you will pass a church on your left and some green rubbish bins on your right slightly further on. 8. Start to slow down here as approx 200m further on you will see an Olive Cottage sign on a telegraph pole on the right JUST BEFORE a house with red shutters, also on the right. STOP! Turn sharp right here doubling almost back on yourself up the short lane where you will find parking and the gates of the cottage. WELCOME TO OLIVE COTTAGE!
