The Knotty Pine is located in the quaint town of Cold Springs, CA. It is the Gateway to the High Sierra's. It sits at 5,700 Elevation and gets tons of SNOW!
The Knotty Pine is a spacious cabin with a COVERED entrance making it more pleasant in the snow. When you step inside you can take in all the cabin happenings in this open living space. You will love the big High Sierra Views from both DECKS!! Enjoy the cozy wood burning stove during those snowy days and nights while taking in those views! There's a desk set up Incase you need a staycation spot and it overlooks the beautiful Sierra Pines with one of two decks access!
The kitchen has full sized appliances perfect for making delicious meals or baking up some goodies! Additionally, The Knotty Pine has two downstairs bedrooms one with a spacious room and a queen bed. The 2nd room has a Full sized bed and the cutest dog inspired chair perfect for reading a good book! There's also a full bathroom on this level. The 3rd bedroom is open style in the upstairs loft. There is a queen bed on one side of the loft with a privacy screen for your use, and the other side is a spacious sitting area with a couch, a chest with air mattresses, a card/game table, a T.V., and a desk overlooking a viewing balcony.
There is plenty of air mattresses with linens should you want an extra sleeping bed! A privacy screen is set up to maintain privacy on the sleeping side of the loft. Feel free to move around the privacy screen.
The cabin has good cell phone reception for ATT and Verizon carriers as well as any carrier affiliated with ATT. You are able to make calls and surf the internet.
For your entertainment there is a 55 inch TV and loads of DVD's for adults and children!
For your enjoyment there's a spacious deck, a fenced in yard for doggles and a lovely balcony! The best part of the outdoors are the breathtaking views of the high Sierras! There's a BBQ pit available for outdoor cooking!
THINGS TO NOTE:
We provide a snow shovel that is kept in the cabin's hallway. When you use it, it has to be returned to its spot before you leave for the next guest. If it not returned we will have to bill you for a replacement and the cost to hire the cabin staff to purchase and take it over to the cabin. It is a necessary item for guests and it causes an issue if a guest shows up and it's not there.
All items you brought with you must be removed from the refrigerator and taken home.
All dishes must be hand washed and put away before you check-out. Our cleaner does not offer this service and we will be charged an extra fee if dishes are left, so please wash your dishes.
~ Please take a look at the amentities we offer. For example, we DO NOT offer a dishwasher, but it is an installed appliance. However, it is not connected, therefore we do not list it as an amentity. It's not "broken" it is just an amentity we don't offer.
We do everything we can to be transparent so you can have a peaceful and pleasant stay. Always feel free to reach out to me to discuss any concerns or needs you may have prior to your stay.
~ This Cabin has an open loft and may not Suitable for younger children. Children are welcome but they must be supervised at all times when they are in the loft..*
~ You must carry out/take home your garbage to dispose of. We have opted to not have trash service due to wild animals getting into trash between pickups. There are trash hauling services available for an extra fee. If you want that service, please contact me after you book and I'll give you names and numbers for you to arrange this service. They must haul the trash before you leave the cabin.

A welcoming and comfortable stay! My son and I went for him to study and to take breaks from study by end of season snowboarding at Dodge Ridge. The cabin exceeded our expectations! It was comfortable and well appointed. My son had a couple of friends come up and there was plenty of room for them to stay for the night too. The first couple of days were chilly and the house heated up nicely. We also made several fires in the evening which was nice. I was able to bring my dogs and it was a comfortable place for them too.
Only issue to be aware of is that (for our stay) the dishwasher was not working. Also, there is no wifi , but there is excellent cell service and we were able to get everything we needed internet wise via use of a hotspot.

Somewhat quaint cabin with some updates. Cramped bedrooms. No WiFi provided and cellphone T-Mobile coverage is non existent in the area.
No trash bags and dishwasher (they did note that in the listing) but could have provided bags and dish scrubber at least (had to go out and buy it). No soap in the bathrooms although it was listed in amenities.
Overall they charge a hefty convenience fee and cleaning fee etc for no amenities.
