A quietly welcoming hotel set amid undeniably lovely surroundings, offering the sort of basic, good‑value rooms one hopes for but doesn’t always get in this part of Snowdonia. The location works well for exploring both the northern and southern reaches of the park, and the ample free parking right outside is a small but appreciated mercy.
Staff were unfailingly pleasant and made us feel at home, and while the room itself was simple, it was spotless — which counts for a great deal. Breakfast was very good, too, and served with a level of calm efficiency that made for a rather civilised start to the day.
There’s no evening dining on-site, but the nearby pub — a short stroll away — more than filled the gap with hearty food. In truth, it all suited the place rather well.
All the essentials were provided, nothing felt amiss, and the stay delivered exactly what it promised. We’d happily return.
Unfortunately no diner is served here anymore. The room would benefit from a bit of tlc.

Great location in a quiet village. Beautiful view of the surrounding landscape. Free parking. Staff were great, welcoming and friendly, the bar felt like home. A lovely evening chatting to everyone after a long drive. Great breakfast for the price.
The hotel is perhaps a bit dated. But this is nit picking for the value.

Lovely place, about a 30 minute drive south of Conwy, so not crowded.
The surroundings are serene and it was so peaceful not to hear the sounds of a city/town. Total silence in which to sleep.
Hosts are very accommodating, friendly, and helpful.

Lovely staff, quiet location roughly 45 mins from snowdon paths, bed was comfy
Understand why but breakfast was only served 8-9am which meant it wasn’t early enough to eat before a hike. Also the bathroom in a standard room was very tight - esp for a 6+ foot person
