Fantastic stay, home away from home

It’s modern, cosy, clean, smells nice, feels like home. Smart Tv, got everything you need in the kitchen. Quiet location. Excellent strong WiFi & free parking. Stayed a few times, it’s great for us who are frequent flyers to Alton Towers from Cornwall. Would highly recommend.

Alright for the money if maximum 4 folk are going.

The house is clean and the beds made nicely. It has modern decor. The Tele has a fire stick in it with all streaming services signed in to the owners account which is a nice touch. There are utensils and cooking apparatus in the kitchen. The location is only a short walk from local shops/pubs. Communication with the host was good and I never needed to chase for anything. For the price it was all acceptable.

Honestly the only problems I would highlight would be that the place was fairly cold, even when the heating was on. The couch in the living room was like a rock. The mattress in the downstairs bedroom was utterly worn. The springs dug into my sides like I was a salmon and an eagle and came down to swoop me up for lunch. It was really bad. I looked through other reviews and they said they they would rectify this situation over a year ago, however, it appears to have fallen on deaf ears. If you are looking to book a stay, make sure that there is only enough people to fit the bedrooms upstairs as they had passable, not comfy as per say, but passable beds. Max stay I'd say is 4 singles or 2 couples.

Clean and convienent for a one night stay

Seemed clean, liked the location, okay for one night.

We just thought it lacked some homely bits. It needed a rug in the living room as the floor was cold. There was no chopping board or scissors in the kitchen. The bedding in the upstairs top room needs updating. The pillow cases were old and not good quality and we were only given one old, thin pillow. There was no lamps in this room and only one bedside cabinet. The downstairs front bedroom had an awful mattress, very soft and could feel the springs. My daughter had a terrible nights sleep. Blinds could be a bit better. The front door was very tricky to lock and the door is stiff to close. The main shower didn’t work well, there was no water pressure so we just used the smaller head. This is just some constructive criticism which can be easily remedied as the main thing you want to give someone is a decent nights sleep with good beds and a good shower.

Overall the property is tired but for one night it was fine.

The location was good, easy to park even though street parking with the permits. Good WiFi. The property was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. Communication from the host was great.

The property states it sleeps 8 but only has a 3 seater sofa and a 4 seater (stools) dining table. The bedrooms were spacious and plenty of room but the one downstairs was right next to the road so you heard the traffic during the night. The WiFi box was also in this bedroom, right next to the pillow so it buzzed all night and we had to turn it off. It was a warm day so we had the back door open to let some air in and it was apparent that either next door or someone across like smoking something other than cigarettes, which isn’t ideal when you have kids there. Although the property was clean it was battered. Plaster chipped on most walls, a chunk taken out of the toilet seat, the bath panel didn’t quite fit. The windows in most rooms were stiff to close. The sofa is stained and covered with blankets.

It served a purpose for one night but none of us were rested with the noise from next door.

Good size. Host communication was great & helpful. Great to have parking permits.

Very noisy neighbours until early hours of the morning. Very noisy main road. Bedding not ironed, only 1 small bath towel per person ,no hand towels each, only 1 loo roll left for a group. Cleaning could be better around skirtings . All taps were loose. Garden overgrown and unable to access apart from opening the patio door.

House of disaster

1. House is by a roadside. Many fast traffic going through. Difficult to find parking. Difficult to load and unload luggages 2. When we arrived, the washing machine was full of wet laundry. Had to take out in order to use the washing machine 3. Heaters does not work. 4. Beds have bad mattresses. Can feel the springs 5. Beddings are smelly 6. We paid for 7 occupants but they didn't give enough towels etc for 7 7. The owner was not helpful at all. Called again and didn't want to answer. The whole experience of staying there was nightmare. Booking.com should take action against places like this.

Was ok for one night but wouldn’t stay again

Property is clean and was ok for one night however it needs some tlc and time and money spent on it. Wallpaper hanging off on the landing and stains on carpets. The bathroom needs a blind. Beds clean and bathroom and kitchen clean. No hot water and shower broken when we arrived but the owners did fix this for us within a few hours. It’s ok for a short stay but to be honest I would not pay to stay here again as other properties similar price in the area that we have stayed in before are much better quality but weren’t available for our trip to Alton towers. This property could be so much better

Disappointing

The property is stylist and had lovely light fittings and pictures. The kitchen was lovely and clean.

Unfortunately, the property needs a bit of TLC. Every room has cracks, marks and plaster showing on the walls where the paint has came off. The hallways wall paper was falling off and the skirting boards needs a good clean. The carpets need cleaning where people have left black marks on it. The bed in the downstairs room was so uncomfortable, we could feel every spring in the mattress. The bed is also next to the window which is right next to the road. This meant that we barely slept due to people racing down the road all night and the uncomfortable mattress. The doorstep needs sweeping and we struggled to get in, due to being given the code the wrong way.

Great base for family trip!

Great stay!! From booking to departure great experience… host was super attentive gave us all the info we needed before we arrived, kept in contact during our stay and after. House was clean and comfortable and big enough to host our whole party of practically 8 adults!! Kitchen was well equipped though for our needs plenty of cups plates and cutlery. Parking was fine, it’s a busy road(parking wise) but we always got a space so no issues. Overall a great base for our busy few days.. no complaints at all!! Thanks Primrose

easy access and simple check in, good location for Stoke and Alton towers - busy main road but property easy to park with permits. For what we paid it was not bad at all.

beds uncomfortable and road noise loud. Property is not well maintained if it has been recently renovated. The beds advertised were not as they appeared at the property, so some of us had to sleep in lounge which was fine but was expecting to see the beds set us as advertised on the booking form

Location of the property was ideal, as very close to the main town, and not too far from Alton Towers. Bedrooms was well presented and clean. Would happily stay there again.

Quick overnighter, perfect for Alton Towers. Buy milk.

Booked as a stayover to go to Alton Towers, so got in late and left by 10. It has small shops in the area to get essentials and plenty of takeaways around. upstairs beds are very comfortable and plenty of towels are available. Hosts are quick to respond to calls and messages.

The downstairs bed could really use a topper if not new mattresses, but to be fair to the host, when I mentioned this after leaving, they were apologetic and quick to agree that this was something they would look at.

Ideal for a one night stay for a trip to Alton towers!

Location was good! Property is modern and clean (attention to detail could be better!) Only half an hour to Alton towers (our reason for the one night stay) Had everything we could possibly want!

Rooms were very hot, a fan in the bedrooms would’ve been good! We arrived at 10.30pm, and although parking permits are provided, there was nowhere on the street to park.

Was unable to recycle as no recycling bins and rubbish didn't seem to have been emptied for a long time. And main road was a bit noisy but obviously not the owners fault and didn't disturb too much

30mins drive from alton towers, clean and spacious

Exceptionally clean and lots of space within the property. Cooking facilities were eccelent, but there are a lot of good local takeaways that deliver.
